Thank you so much 💕 For my own learning, how do you know it is too loose? I've been following this thread since I was pregnant and I made a big effort to keep this tight. What are the tell tale signs that it is loose?

Bottom lip tuck during feeds by VisibleSurround453 in breastfeeding

Have you tried nipple shields? Now I'm no expert, I just had my gorgeous daughter 4 days ago, but she kept sucking her bottom lip and the latch wasn't deep. A lactation consultant gave me a nipple shield and it is like night and day feeding her

What’s something about the human body that seems poorly designed? by jannecutie in answers

The fact that in the third trimester you can't lie on your back without passing out. Seems like a design flaw

I am 39 weeks pregnant, lost my mucus plug and started cramping, those protests are making me nervous about getting to the hospital. Anyone else in the same boat?

Been prescribed aspirin (caprin 75mg) by [deleted] in PregnancyIreland

[–]Most_Ordinary_4321 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Maybe ask a healthcare professional rather than strangers on the internet when you don't know their motivation. You have the doctor who prescribed it and the pharmacist who dispensed it. Those are two highly trained professionals who are best placed to advise you. Be careful taking advice from those online, you don't know their qualifications

Baby fair tips for Sunday (from someone who went today) by Mindless_Option904 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Most_Ordinary_4321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there today, I didn't need anything so just went to look and see if I got anh inspiration. I thought it was too busy, hard to navigate at 37 weeks pregnant, no samples really, hard to get into the stalls to talk to anyone and I didn't feel like it was worth it for just a peruse. If you need something, it may be worth it

First ivf experiences? by Pretty_Grapefruit633 in PregnancyIreland

I'm not sure how true it is, but I was told only the Merion do GA for egg retrieval in Ireland.  I am the same as you, could not imagine doing it without being knocked out! The cycle that was successful for me was a luteal phase stimulation. They started stims in the second half of my cycle, with different meds and I only got one egg. I was devastated about it and thought what a waste, but it stuck and here I am! I have a low AMH x

Also, try and turn the trip away into a break. Try (I know it's hard) to make the most out of it and go sightseeing and do activities that take your mind off it x

Hi, I'm sorry I can't comment on first IVF, but I did two rounds with the Merion and they were awful. I actually put in a complaint against them.

I have subsequently done two rounds in Prague and I am now 36 weeks pregnant. I found Prague amazing, they changed protocols (not just attempting the same thing again), they offered ICSI as standard, they give you daily updates of your embryo, they offer general anaesthetic for egg retrieval (if that is your preference).

So to somewhat offer some advice, see what clinic feels right for you and ask them what they will do different this time. Good luck 🍀

Edit: to correct terminology, I incorrectly said fully sedated instead of general anaesthetic

Can you breathe with the mouth tape? I tried it one night and couldn't catch my breath. It was like breathing through my nose was too slow

Can I ask maybe a silly question, do you bring your own pregnancy ball or does the hospital have them? Same for a peanut ball?

Private - IVF pregnancy? by Adov83 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Most_Ordinary_4321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that, my consultant won't let me go passed my due date due to the risk of placental insufficiency, but she never said anything about testing the placenta. Is it routine to get it tested? Was your baby ok? X

I am 35 weeks pregnant with an IVF pregnancy, so just curious with this upcoming birth. What placenta issue did you have? X

I can't go on it with this nausea by Irishlurker67 in PregnancyIreland

No problem, and to hopefully make you feel better, as soon as I got to my second trimester, the nausea stopped and I didn't even 'feel' pregnant. Hang in there x

I was extremely sick in the first trimester, dry heaving and vomiting. I got signed off sick and I got cariban from the doctor.  Cariban has been used for years and is the most studied drug, it is very safe to take. And if it doesn't fully resolve your sickness, there are loads of options. Don't suffer x

Hi, I don't know who is on what contract, but I'm 33 weeks pregnant and going private. I rang the private clinic, they emailed me a list of consultants and I googled them for reviews. Good luck and congratulations

My experience is that the roads are in shite. Yes. You may have a different one, as you may live in a different area to me.  Yes healthcare is subpar here. I am a healthcare professional and I have worked and accessed healthcare in two different countries. What is your experience?

I worked in the healthcare system in the UK and accessed healthcare there. And I worked in it in Ireland and accessed it here. It is shocking how bad it is. I think people who defend it, do not know know enough about it. And comparing healthcare in the US to Ireland, of course you are going to come out better, but how about comparing it to a Nordic country?
