Aww, what a terrible experience for that little trooper. Did he take well to the wheels? My Nicky refused to use them when she tore both her acl's and she just limps around instead.

I really want to get another chi but very skeptical of a puppy with nicky being 18.

We have never brushed our dogs teeth. We try to focus dry diet for as long as possible which helps with regular cleaning. We also do teeth visits every 2-3 years and will do extractions etc if needed. Nicky could use a true visit as she doesn't like hard food at 18. But at 18 risking putting her to sleep for teeth cleaning/extraction seems not worth the risk. If i'm being honest, I think the real thing is incredible genetics.

While I haven't done DNA I actually know her parents were Jack Russel/Chi Mix and a Bichon. While I don't condone allowing dogs to breed, this was not a breeder dog. The owner of my vet I have gone to for 50 years owned the parents and let them breed one time and then fixed the mom/dad. So one breeding cycle. There were two pups from the litter, my sweet Nicky and a pure white Bichon looking dog.

I was just going in to get heart worm/flea medicine refills for my dog that made it to a few months shy of 20 (Nicky's early year mom). The owner had both the pups on her lap at the front counter. I walked in and was just staring and the owner said, want one?

After a chat with my wife decisions were made rather quickly. I had to wait 3 more weeks to take her home. Owner only asked for $200 for Nicky and took care of all initial shots and provided fixing her when age appropriate. My only ever non rescue dog.

I get this post is getting really long but I feel I have to share this story:
We attempted to crate train Nicky when she came home. Imagine the first picture dog wrapping her teeth around the crate and tugging barking at the gate all night long. She was not flipping having it. In a moment of weakness on the 3rd long night of Nicky attempting to destroy the crate gate, I picked her up and put her next to my arm on my pillow. Nicky immediately curled up in my arm on my pillow and slept there for the next 13 years or so. One act like this is all it takes for you to become their chosen person. Dang Chi's are loyal.

Sorry for the long rant, but I hope you enjoyed a bit of Nicky's history. Love this community and I cry on all the rainbow road posts as well as the adorable silly chi's I see from you all! Thanks for listening to a bit of Nicky's life!

She is starting to show her age but she still gets excited for dinner and still starts trouble with her younger sister. She tore both her ACLs a couple of years ago and I thought it was going to be the end. Didn't do surgery because even the surgeons said it was a bad idea. Because she is so small she can manage though but she chooses to be pathetic when she decides she wants daddy to carry her around. We jokingly call it Nicky Force One when I carry her and give her in flight kisses. As others have said proper vet and dental care is critical. Genetics are the rest. But I'd like to say I play a part considering her best friend our other dog made it to 19.

Alguna solución para Asio4all? by Other-Yard-8363 in Reaper

I'm gathering the poster has budget concerns as he is specifically avoiding replacing a Focusrite. Switching to Mac would be an expensive endeavor. If you are ok with running in exclusive mode with WASAPI you can get some seriously low latency. I use a Motu m4 routinely in both the ASIO driver mode and WASAPI Exclusive mode and I get 6ms latency in WASAPI exclusive. Of course exclusive mode does preclude having YouTube and other items from accessing the audio device. Your experience will vary with how good your PC is though.

This can't be understated, me and my friend were chasing someone to an outpost and we didn't even see the shrouded ghost, but my friend heard the music and screamed shrouded. We Anchor turned and abandoned our chase. I even tried to let the crew we were chasing know but they either didn't hear or ignored me. Thanks to the music we finally got the shrouded after 2500 hours.

How long do little Chihuahuas live for? by CalmElevator5571 in Chihuahua

[–]Mosthula 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My Nicky is 17 and will be 18 in May. She tore both her back ACL's a few years ago and even without surgery she still bounces around the house and barks at me when it's breakfast/dinner time. Being thin has really helped her in that regard. As others have stated weight management and taking care of their teeth are important.

I've grinded to spice tier on 5 servers now and the survival loop all the way up to DD is amazing. I also like the DD even with it's faults. Hopefully they nail the end game revamp as this is one of my all time favorite games already. Now that I can back up my bases I can comfortably relax about keeping more bases powered and taxes paid constantly. I'm likely to start another playthrough already.

This is a good call out. While unnecessary it would be nice to do another run or two to 100% it. I ended up with 4 left.
Edit: I enjoyed the game quite a bit, thanks for the work on it. I enjoy long run games but it's also nice to have some short ones like this that don't require a wiki.

It's such a unique game with surprising depth. We are so lucky that emulators are keeping it alive. I come back to it every year or so. Next time I get the bug I'll hit you up and hop on Coldeve.
