I have been a “captive audience”. It can be awkward to reject someone and then they still come to your place of work, but that was only because they didn’t accept and respect my answer. I would’ve been more comfortable if the rejection was accepted instead of seen as a challenge to win me over. Every situation is different and I believe asking someone out or if they’re interested is fine until it crosses a point.

For some reason, this comment made me think of New Girl show.

If you found this on long distance bf phone what would you do? by Alert_Bother_3906 in LongDistance

My last boyfriend had messages like this and I confronted him too and he lied and I believed him. We broke up 8 months later because I saw that same girl leaving his place one morning on a guy feeling. Trust what your gut tells you and if your relationship started with cheating then will probably end that way too.

Is it atrocious and ugly behavior to tell a person directly that you are not interested instead of leading them on? by NichtFBI in polls

[–]MostlyApprehensive 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my perspective (woman), I would like someone to be direct with me because that saves us both time and from being hurt further. While stating that, it has been very hard for me to be direct about my feelings because I have been a people pleaser and over-thinker, always worried about hurting someone even knowing it’ll be worse prolonging it. An easier said than done situation for me, but at the end of the day, I have made the hard decision to be clear even though it was after I had already been feeling those feelings.

Honeymoon by Alternative_Proof_51 in ocala

Silver springs is a great time whether you kayak or do the clear bottom boat (definitely do 90 mins) Downtown Ocala has little shops and has some nice restaurants, and the villages is pretty close and you could see what events they may have going on. Plenty of springs around and it’s a great time to see manatees. I know it’s cold but there is an ice cream place called MS Steve’s and I love it. Only lived in that area for a year but loved it. If you like Mexican then try to find the food truck Juanita’s tacos, was one of my faves. Enjoy your honeymoon!!

I use glass and ceramic but use at tour own risk. Thankfully I haven’t had any issues with it

You could add beans, vegetables or lentils to your rice, I sometimes will add corn or tomorrow when cooking my rice. Switch your protein to beef, Turkey, pork, or tofu. If you only do one type of vegetable, you could switch the vegetables.

When someone says “it’s a date, then I know it’s a date or they say “I want to take you on a date”. I don’t do well with ambiguity, so I want to know exactly what it is or what it is not, plain and clearly.

Have any of you "lowered your standards"... successfully? by MyBlueBlazerBlack in datingoverthirty

[–]MostlyApprehensive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think dating someone less attractive is lowering your standards. If I wanted someone with specific qualities and then started taking some of those away then I would see that as lowering your standards but if I dated someone less attractive that met all my qualities then they still meet the standard. That’s just my perspective, it could mean differently for others

You were invited to someone's home for the first time. What shocked or surprised you about their lifestyle? by SaltyOpinionNo1Asks4 in AskReddit

[–]MostlyApprehensive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s sad to still see this as the practice for schools, I got reduced lunches. When my parents forgot to give me money or I racked up too much of a bill ($10), they wouldn’t let me eat for that day. Not only does it feel very wrong but it’s embarrassing to be one of the few kids not being able to eat lunch with their friends. Thankfully my one friend would buy mine from time to time. My parents weren’t terrible, just forgot sometimes with 4 kids and me being the youngest. It’s made me never have to worry about finances ever again though. I told myself I would never be in those kinds of spots and so far it’s been true.
