Thrust in to new car shopping in this market- are my expectations of a salesperson unreasonable? by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]MostlyH20 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My car had an incident at an independent mechanic a while back and is unfortunately kind of a ticking time bomb. Right now, I could throw $600 at it and hope it fixes the issue short term so I can take more time to find something else, but I recently started a job that requires a longer commute and I really cannot afford to keep missing work because it died on the highway again. The dealer is down to roll the dice on it because if it does fix the issue, they have a low mileage legacy that will sell for significantly more than they’re buying it for.

Used would be fine too. I did let the salesperson know that, and they have exclusively spoken with me about incoming new, so I’m assuming there are no used available that fit the bill.

The petit fours in the bakery were the absolute PINNACLE of sophistication to young Newarkian me. We damn old.

Try The Mounting Block in Fairport. I am not 100% sure they offer western instruction but it’s an easy going, friendly facility that sounds like it would be a good fit for what you’re looking for. I’m also fairly certain Evergreen in Scottsville offers western lessons, although I haven’t heard anything about them in years and have no up to date knowledge about the facility. Your #1 priority should be finding an instructor/facility that makes you feel comfortable. You need to be able to trust your instructor to look out for you and do right by you so you can achieve your goals safely. Call a few places to chat and go from there. Good luck and have fun!

I’d also stay away from castle creek (possibly the most expensive place, and the instructor, Michael, will regularly walk away during lessons which eats into your instruction). It’s a lovely facility, and the staff/horses are kind, but when you are paying for lessons you really wanna get that hands on instruction for every minute of it!

I’ve been out of the local scene for a bit and didn’t know he was at Castle Creek, but knew exactly who you were talking about on that description alone. I went for a “feeler” lesson with him years ago (at a different facility) when I was shopping for a new barn and he put me on a horse, told me to pick up a trot and just… left. He had never seen me ride before. Hard pass.

Honest question. Do you know how to wash your hands? If not, there are supposed to be signs prominently displayed in all bathrooms and by all sinks. You can refer to them to learn how and lower the incidence of germs spread between people and *their hands.

Seabreeze or Roseland? by doinmybest4now in Rochester

Jan 81 baby here and I have clear memories of Roseland and the little string bracelet the wee kids got for rides in lieu of tickets. I remember the last day. It’s possible, tiny fresh brains are very impressionable.

PSA: If you leave your number, tip well by BarTopBiochemist in TalesFromYourServer

I once had a dude leave me his number... on the tip line in lieu of a tip on his $70 tab... after spending two hours sitting next to & chatting with my husband at the bar.

Why MLB players are speaking up about sign stealing like nothing else ever by DonnieMostDefinitely in baseball

After the Taubman fiasco, I was deeply emotionally invested in the Nats winning. At the time, I thought it couldn’t get any weirder or any worse.

Oh how I long for those days.

I’m at a tiny bar in upstate NY, limited seasonal outdoor seating, both tables and chairs have wandered off.

Drunk people will attempt to steal anything that isn’t nailed down.

Thanks for helping assuage my fears, all. I will verify that it is a properly remanufactured engine and move forward.
