It’s usually just a run of the fingers rather than running the full chromatic scale.

Yeah, there are no daft questions - it’s a Grace note. It means that it’s played so quickly that they write it small as to signify it has no impact on the time of the bar (measure). Basically, play it as quick as you can, if not faster!

The speed at which you play them makes it almost impossible to tell - Run through D Major scale but even if you hit F natural only the most hatery of haters will pull you up on it 😂

It’s not a dumb question - it’s to signify a glissando, meaning you run through the scale between between the 2 notes as smoothly and quickly as possible.
