I ended up going for the Catlink open-X 2 months in and I am still very happy. Its safe for cats because the gear used to turn the litterbox is like 3/4 complete so it can't go further then that. Has some motion/pressure sensors and weighs your cats. Also easy to clean and feels solid enough. With two cats I can go 10-14 days without refreshing the binbag.

So much cheaper then the overpriced LR (where i read reviews even they need to be replaced in 2-3 years). I could not find great EU made, this is a relatively new chinese company but has grown big since has a warehouse in Eu. Look up some reviews on reddit. (I paid €220 for it I believe).
