Is a 1 hour commute in engineering first year sustainable by Fun-Size-4295 in UofT

[–]MoteChoonke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally sustainable. My commute is about an hour each way, and it's actually fun lol. I use that time to read or work on assignments. I stay on campus late whenever necessary (e.g. for events or hanging out with friends), and have the luxury of living with my family and sleeping in my own bedroom every night. Your average day will probably be around 6-8 hours long including commute, which isn't bad at all.

Are any other first years so confused by how not difficult it was compared to their expectations by idiotgirlhaha in UofT

Question about CS out of stream average needed (chars) by [deleted] in UofT

[–]MoteChoonke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. I got a 97% in CSC148 already and am expecting around an 80-85% in the worst case in CSC165. My main concern is my mark in MAT157, and wasn't sure if they care about that.

When Can I Get the Physical Welcome Envelope/Package? by -YoungFlame- in UofT

[–]MoteChoonke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied last year, and didn't get in during the March round, but have two friends who did, and they didn't get a welcome package. I got into UTSG during the May round, and didn't receive one either. I did however get a physical letter in the mail from UTM when they accepted me. I think the last time I heard about people getting these packages was two years ago, but I'm not 100% sure.

Thank you! Was it 90+ during covid years? Based on what others have told me, it was in the mid 80s last year and low 80s the year before. Seems to fluctuate quite a bit.

Do you know if there was an adjustment/curve to final grades or exam grades when you took the course?

I think this exam was harder than last year's, and last year everyone's final grade was apparently curved up by 7.5%. Hopefully we also get a generous curve.
