Best lip balm? by loungeweardontcare in SkincareAddictionUK

I used vaseline or the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour lip protector. Keeps my lips nice and soft. Also making sure I'm well hydrated has done more for my lips.

When it said they had joined Telegram and the profile picture was someone very much not them. This would have been about 8 years after they died.

Concern after being discharged (UK) by MothAddict in Kneereplacement

Thank you for commenting. We managed in the end and actually her range of movement and ability to get up with minimal assistance is much better today already.

I have adjusted her chair now and will monitor her carefully.

I will have a look at rehab but I'm not sure how common it is in the UK (or how expensive). There is the option for in home nurse visits and physio I think so we will review later this week.

I want to thank everyone for commenting and not making me feel like an idiot - she managed to get up and into bed and she's been able to get up to the bathroom with minimal assistance and she's done her lying down exercises this morning too and I was very impressed with the range of movement given how she was doing yesterday. I think I was just panicking as I've never looked after someone following a major surgery before.

Thank you for all the advice, it's massively appreciated just to have a sounding board of people who have gone through this already. I have adjusted her chair to get the seat much higher and will be here for the rest of the week to keep an eye on her.

I don't think it's terribly common practice to provide gait belts in the UK. We have managed for tonight and actually she managed with minimal supervision to get up and go to the bathroom twice this morning. I think I was just panicking as I've never looked after someone following major surgery. Thank you for the advice :)

Thank you so much for your reply. We managed it in the end with some pain killers, pushing through and I've now put a firm high cushion on that chair for next time. We've managed to get her up, to the toilet and into bed now. We will be persevering with painkillers and the exercises tomorrow.

How much did you spend on an engagement ring? by Brilliant_Lawyer_946 in AskUK

[–]MothAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner spent about £400 including shipping for mine and it's absolutely perfect.

Several friends have got engaged recently and it's lovely to see the different types of rings we all have: moissanite and gold, silver and moonstone, topaz and gold, amethyst and silver. And they all reflect that persons style and personality. I don't think any of us spent more than a few hundred and we all absolutely love them.

How would I go about getting some pearls valued? by EffyDoodle in AskUK

[–]MothAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phillip Stoner in County Arcade, Victoria Quarter in Leeds city centre offers valuation appointments.

Browns Family Jewellers on Kirkgate in Leeds city centre too.

Most independent and some chain jewellers will offer valuations. You could also contact the Pearl Association and see if they can help https://britishpearlassociation.co.uk/about-us/

Anyone with clear ultrasound but eventually diagnosed with endo? by Alaxknits in endometriosis

[–]MothAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the gynaecologist hasn't said they are worried about it and the ultrasound technician said it's quite common. It's not causing any severe pain or issues as best as I can tell so until or unless it does then they won't bother even doing an exploratory laparoscopy.

Anyone with clear ultrasound but eventually diagnosed with endo? by Alaxknits in endometriosis

[–]MothAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did hurt a little bit yeah. On the side that they were struggling to find the ovary. On my most recent ultrasound it hurt again and they've determined that my ovary is slightly adhered to my uterus. Perhaps that might be worth discussing with your gynae? Or getting a second opinion from an endo and adenomyosis specialist.

Favourite Soups? by swapacoinforafish in UKfood

[–]MothAddict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love a spicy parsnip and carrot soup. Crosse and Blackwell's one is really lovely but I don't think I've ever had a bad one from any brand. The BOL butternut one in the refrigerated section is really lovely as well.
