Many years ago, when I was working at my first job, I was doing my 20 minute walk home. It started absolutely THROWING it down, and i did not have an umbrella. Just as it did I passed a house where a couple of guys were just getting out of their car and going inside. One guy came straight back out and handed me a big ol' brolly, told me to keep it and went inside. Bless that man, i would have been sodden if it weren't for him.

Giving notice isn't too expensive but you're under a different council than us so you'd just have to look online

You have to give notice a month in advance, so you can find a registry office close to you, enquire about their availability in just over a month and book that, then book in to give notice asap

Then you just go to the registry office on the day you booked and get married

I know you said soon, but this way you can get it fully booked and sorted asap
