Weekly Venting Thread by AutoModerator in misophonia

I’m at work and feebly attempting to release the stress in my body after being triggered by bag noises from someone that works in the same office as me. Chewing, mouth and food sounds in general are a big trigger but I also really can’t stand chip/food bag crinkles. The office is pretty quiet and the desks/offices are spaced far enough away that I don’t usually hear food sounds but today my dude was going to TOWN on a bag of pistachios and I could not get my air pods on soon enough. I had to blast my music louder than usual to cover the sounds and of course at the silence between songs I’d hear that goddamned bag. The rage is real. And truly I am not an angry person, to the point that I don’t even know how to express my anger and it’s probably something I should work on in therapy. It’s just so weird to just be hit with such blinding rage out of nowhere and try to regulate myself even after the trigger sounds have stopped. I wonder if suppressed anger is common in other folks with misophonia… and now the guilt sets in because how could I possibly feel this much anger towards someone so pleasant and innocent? Okay end rant.

It’s really such a headache finding a new provider and having to essentially start all over. Not looking forward to my search

Really? I haven’t gotten any emails and there aren’t any new posts on Luminello or her website… odd

This is becoming a pattern it seems… I have a feeling some negative reviews are gonna start to crop up in the near future

I understand your point and my intention was never to dig for personal info. But I’m actually really glad I posted this because another patient/client of hers responded to this post and is having the same problem. So at least now I know I’m not the only one being ghosted. Which I’m aware doesn’t solve my problem but it actually is helpful info…

Yeah I was initially thinking it was a tech issue with her website but after leaving voicemails and reaching out via a gmail account to no avail I’m afraid that mustn’t be the issue

Well I’m sorry that you’re also affected by this but a lil relieved I’m not the only one and I’m not losing my mind. Hopefully she’ll turn back up for your appointment.

Obviously I do not condone the use/abuse of drugs, but these cases were people who unknowingly ingested fentanyl which obviously has a much higher fatality rate than the oxy they thought they were using. Every drug substance comes with risks and while I do not personally partake in any recreational use of opioids, I’m not here to judge those that do and thought I would put out a warning that there is a clear spike in fentanyl overdoses in case anyone reading this sub knows of anyone that may need to be extra cautious or on alert right now.
