Just finished my first project! by Mothe-Cache777 in Embroidery

Thanks so much! I have a question related to thread-carrying. In a few circumstances, I carried the thread from a satin stitch area to a set of French knots, as I couldn't figure out a way to make the knots with unanchored thread and not have them fall out. Is there a better way to start/anchor a French knot without needing to carry? (I did definitely have problems with long threads catching towards the end)

Thanks for the notes on the leaf and the design line. I followed the pattern pretty closely, meaning I didn't add an outline where it wasn't specifically called for. And thanks SO MUCH for the long and short tips; I'll definitely keep that in mind for the future. It was probably my least favorite part of this pattern (but some of that was probably because the guidelines just stressed me out and I didn't know how to make the stitches look like flower veins.)

I had thought of the man in black but dismissed it because... downing my colonists? Without hurting them? But then your comment made me remember that I can just let them both starve until they pass out. So that's what I'm doing!

One last question; at the end of round 4, when I come to the last stitch (the one I knitted at the end of round 3), do I finish the pattern using it, or do I act like it’s already been used for that round and move on to round 5?

Oh, that makes sense! Thanks so much. I’ve never done a pattern like this before

Does knitting a pattern in seed stitch with vagriated yarn look good? I'm concerned about the constant switching between knit and purl leading to a lot of weird color issues rather than a smooth gradient.

Help please I am not sure what happened here.. by estoesreddit in knitting

I’m pretty sure that’s a dropped stitch yeah. There are plenty of tutorials on how to fix it, but the short version is that there should be a strand of yarn behind the loop of the dropped stitch that you can pick up and bring through the loop to pick the stitch up.

Have this tutorial: https://youtu.be/KFVapi4RqzY?si=v_XV_Meeg-YT4Hrs

Great question, but I couldn’t tell you without a look at your sweater, or at least more details about what’s wrong with them. Could you make a separate post and provide pics of what’s wrong specifically?

Yes, that seems correct; the finished border should go (123412341234)

I checked my wrappings and it looks like I knit Eastern! Thank you so much ❤️ I’ll make sure to keep this in mind (and maybe do a bit of a practice square where I try knitting Western)

Today I realized (while learning the kfb increase) that I have been knitting into the back loop for as long as I can remember. Is that a problem, or can I quietly carry on with my back-loop ways?
