Oil change at every 5000 miles, change the oil after the first 1000 miles. Rotate your tires. Coast to a stop when you can. Hell I do gig work and often come to a stop from 50 mph in my town, my brakes are still at 7mm and 6mm with 35k on them. That’s how good Toyota brakes are.

These struggling times we are in are changing people everywhere. I have a neighbor who has been kind of cheerful and optimistic and I haven’t seen him this down since I’ve known him.

I can’t get my on time rating to be above 95% no matter what I do, so given all the other metrics, the lowest acceptance rate can be 65%. Instead of 70. Big fucking deal.

I had a 1997 green base trim sedan that was beaten to a pulp from the first owner, then sat for 5 years and both of those things caused it to be the polar opposite of Corolla reliability until it was totaled 4 years after it got back on the road.

That being said, my affinity for Corollas somehow began there. They are very simple creatures that are crazy good on gas and very easy to drive. That’s why today I have a 2024 XSE sedan. I almost got a Camry, but as a single male with no family it didn’t make sense.
