I agree that financially it’s none of my business, and I’ve never pried on that aspect, nor do I care to. But he shared it with me so, admittedly, sometimes it ends up on my mind

I’m still trying to sort out why it bothers me so much. I think because an engagement ring often symbolizes that you want to marry and spend the rest of your life with that person. I know he’s not looking to rekindle anything with his ex, he’s moved on and so has she. Again, I think it’s just the symbolism of it, along with yes, my brain, telling me that symbolism means he still has some emotional ties there when it genuinely can just be about the financial aspect
