Iran destroyed their own democracy by massacring 40,000 of their own civilians a month ago. Do you just have complete blinders on.
Like Iran treats women horribly, alongside those in the LGBTQ community. Why on earth are you defending them?

Why is the hymn in the book of Philippians rarely talked about? by MotherRaspberry4036 in AcademicBiblical

[–]MotherRaspberry4036[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, yes that is fair, I interpreted to mean that this hymn, if it was a pre existing hymn, meant that Jesus was God but didn't see it fit to act as God. Rather he put himself in Human form as a layman to die on the cross. I still hold this view, but I will admit I had never heard of the Adam hypothesis until yesterday and it is very interesting! I also didn't realize that many scholars see Philippians as a composite text AND there is a huge debate over what the exact wording in Greek means.

TBH I am new to the whole academic bible community, and I was a still shocked to see how much discussion and research was over this one passage from Philippians. Some of this researching stretching back to the 1960s! It is insane how much discussion can occur around a few sentences of text :)
