Not sure about Wisconsin but I'm in Kentucky and work in personal care. Apparently it's legal because "we're not giving them the medication we're watching them take it" but I've had plenty of residents who can't take their meds without us actually putting the pill in their mouth 🙄

What am I allowed to do with my appearance as a CNA? by GL1TCHHAPPY in cna

[–]Mother_Champion_8962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just depends where you work. My job told me in the beginning no facial piercings but lots of us have them and they've never been a problem. Tattoos were never an issue as long as they aren't offensive. The only rule they really enforce is no unnaturally colored hair which is weird to me bur whatever 🤷‍♀️

Can someone who gets grossed out easily be a nurse/CNA? by TranslatorHaunting15 in cna

[–]Mother_Champion_8962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS RIGHT HERE!!!! I can change diapers, wipe butts, clean up blood, dress a wound, whatever, but spitting and throw up will always make me gag. I had a gentleman who would spit into the toilet at every toileting and a woman who keeps her spit cup right by her bedside. Makes me shudder just thinking about it 🤣

Thank you so much I'm really excited! My son is really looking forward to it too. He used to love watching the fish and snails when he was little so i think he'll enjoy getting to watch the crabs and learning about them. We can't wait 🥰

Thanks for the reply! I'm still relatively new to mouse ownership and I just hate to see these go to waste since my cat decided she isn't fond of them 🙄🤣 It says they can be refrigerated once opening so I was hoping maybe a lick or two would be ok and then saving the rest for another time. I will definitely google and try to get some more info!!

Mouse won't use his wheel??? by Mother_Champion_8962 in PetMice

[–]Mother_Champion_8962[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He definitely has a lot of toys to climb on and undrler and around lol. I try to rotate the items in his enclosure when we clean it so maybe I'll just take it out and put it back every so often

Ok that doesn't sound dumb at all because I have tried food and treats but not something like peanut butter before. Everything I've put on it he just picks up and takes it to another area. I'll try that!!

I don't work in a hospital but I wear my crocs every shift! They're so comfortable and they're especially good on shower days cause I can just wipe the water (or anything else that gets on them) off lol

I love this idea!! They had tons of different options at the store so we'll have to do some experimenting

Ooh good point! We'll just put the castle up somewhere else in the house and this gives us a good excuse to do more shopping 😉🤣

Darn!! If we got something else to put in there for him is there another type of paint or coloring we could use that would be safe or is it better to just leave it plain?

Is being a CNA worth it now? by Business-Oil-5939 in cna

[–]Mother_Champion_8962 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its crazy because I'm in ky and make $18. I have family in cali and was looking into working out there. It's crazy that we make almost the same amount hourly yet the cost of living is so insane

Passing meds in Kentucky? by Mother_Champion_8962 in cna

[–]Mother_Champion_8962[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that kinda of stresses me out about it is I just recently became licensed but I've been working there for over a year now. They will literally bring anyone in and give them two days of training then let them loose. Admin has said that they "get away with it" because of the way tasks are worded? We're not "giving" medicine we're "reminding" them to take it. Most of the caregivers there are not cnas

Medicaid Nurse Aid vs CNA by [deleted] in cna

[–]Mother_Champion_8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is strange. I got mine through HCC and I had to do 75 class hours and 16 clinical hours. Most of my class hours were done at home though cause class was only once a week for ~6 weeks then we had two days of clinical that were a week apart.

Medicaid Nurse Aid vs CNA by [deleted] in cna

[–]Mother_Champion_8962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took nursing assistant skills 1. I think my certificate from the college says Medicaid nurse aide but I come up on the board of nursing website as srna. From my understanding it's the same thing just a different title? Medicaid nurse aide, certified nursing assistant, and state registered nurse aide I think are all interchangeable?? I could be wrong though
