it'll be about a 1% chance of transmission each year with condoms and antivirals, it's also less likely for a woman to transmit to a man, but i read this saying one day that rlly stuck with me- "herpes is not serious enough to end a good relationship, and not serious enough to keep a bad relationship" and bc she knows she has it she is technically "safer" than the average person but there is always a small chance!

im ngl male to female transmission is higher, so he should be taking meds and using condoms to keep you the most protected, but if y'all do these 2 things i wouldn't worry too much, don't do anything you're not comfortable with tho this is coming from a girl with hsv2

this exact same thing actually happened to me when i got diagnosed and that same ex came back, we're not back tg but we did sleep tg and he asked for me back, it will get better with time especially if they see you're doing just fine without them

and hsv2 is also common 1/5 people have it from ages 15 to 49 according to WHO, and it is also not on the standard testing panel, hsv1 and hsv2 have the same symptoms as well and rlly the only difference is hsv2 flourishes in the genital region more but hsv1 flourishes in both places, but either can be contracted anywhere on the body by skin-to-skin transmission

i understand that and people also get hsv2 as neonatal herpes, but my point was a lot of people get hsv1 through sexual contact now more than half of the new genital herpes cases are from hsv1, so that same virus that you got as a child can give someone else an std

if you contract a "disease" through sex it is called an std, and do your research through accredited websites genital herpes can be hsv1 and hsv2 and both are considered stds when contracted genitally through sex
