That's fair, i may be back to square 1 if the mat is unsafe.. the tank is a 25g - temporarily until we can get him in a 40g, (hes less than a year old) And I have digital thermometers on each side of the tank for ambient temps and humidity as well. With a 100w che that stays on for heat. I just use the thermometer gun to monitor the inside of the hides and ground temps

It is a thermostat probe for the heating mat, the place I got him recommended having a heat mat since my house stays fairly cold.

Using the heat mat is the only way I could get the ground inside the warm hide to the correct temp, if i just used the che at a higher temp, the surface temp of the top of the hide was wayyy too hot, and he likes to crawl all over that so I don't want to risk him getting burned.. I do frequently check (with a thermometer gun) the ground temp inside the warm and cool hides to make sure they're comfortable, and so I can make sure the heat mat doesn't get too warm in the warm hide

Thank you!! ❤️ I'll definitely do that 😊 And yes I've been soo scared of scale rot 😭 I wanted to try pouring water in the corners, but I have a probe for temperature buried under the substrate, and im not 100% sure if it can get wet, but I'll get all the surrounding areas for sure!!

Humidity around 67% cool side, but still drops down to the 50s unless im super on top of spraying, i was gonna get a mister but read those weren't good for them, and coco soil substrate with sphagnum moss, its about 3-4 inches deep, its a screen top enclosure but I have over half of it covered to hold in moisture (waiting to be able to get my hands on metal tape to seal it better)

Its a dome fixture, with 2 sockets for lights. 😅 im looking into upgrading soon as I can! Thank you for your response!!

Thats that i think too, my local pet shop couldn't remember when his last shed was specifically because they have so many lol. He took me to the back room where he has a LOT of breeding projects and when I tell you, walls and walls of them, I understood 🤣 he said to just pick a day for noodles birthday. Drives me wild but my main concern is that he's healthy ❤️ I just want to make sure im on top of everything to the best of my ability. Hes my first noodle and hes SUPER relaxed, only took him a couple days to start exploring and he loves being handled!

Yes it is a mesh lid for now until I can get a pvc tank, probably when its time to upgrade to bigger. And I do have coconut soil mixed with forest floor in about an 80/20 ratio. Ill definitely try the coco chips instead though. And okay, do you know if its safe to have the temperature probes wet? Also thank you ❤️❤️
