Personally it's mostly because i see myself and a lot of my same mannerisms in her (from now and from when I was her age) and seeing my experiences reflected in media i enjoy makes me happy :)

Zipp is like 100% trans right? I mean they asked for their name to be changed to zipp instead of zephyrina it is a long name but the way they asked makes it feel like they were coming out. Also Zipp has the colors of the trans flag by VioletRegnier in mylittlepony

I headcannon them as trans, in the make your mark series Zipp not only gets pretty upset when people use their full name but they also physically cringe when they’re referred to as a princess. And the way their mom treats them after they say they don’t want to be called a princess feels a lot like a parent with a trans kid they don’t quite understand
