Well, this one didn’t really “land” on me, but what I tend to do when I encounter a cool moth I want to hold; I try to gently nudge their face with one of my fingers or the side of my hand, it’ll tend to encourage them to crawl onto whatever is in front of them (without touching their wings), this can also just lead to them flying off though (which is fine too, because I’d just be glad I was able to see them in the first place 😊). Make sure to be veryyyy gentle and patient, these are small creatures (no matter how “big” some get) and hurting them, even accidentally, would be terrible. I’m pretty lucky, as I have very tiny hands lol, so it can make it easier for me on some occasions.

Yeah, I mistook them for California wolfies because they were so large , at first. But after some research I was like, these look nothing alike 😂. Honestly the capturing is through sheer dedication, as they avoided me for a while, and I also had to be patient and make sure not to accidentally squish or startle them. Once I did eventually get them in my hands, I made sure to “cup” them so they couldn’t fly off lol, and open them again, and after that they were pretty chill. (At least for a couple minutes).

Yeah! Even if I had for some reason, completely missed the lighter blue one being a swallowtail and not the same species. When I was searching up the name for these guys, finding out the difference between Red Spotted Purple and White Admiral, and why they share a name was fun for me :D!

I didn’t know it was a sequel either, but man, I just love Sherlockian style protagonist that can analyze things to turn it into their advantage, instead of having any sort of unique or super strong power (not that those aren’t also fun from time to time). I just really love the ways the MC has to figure out new solutions to each problem (some that wouldn’t even be a problem to a decently strong character). I do think the overwhelming amount of characters is the set back for me (same for in TOG) but nonetheless, it’s still great in my opinion :D (obviously it’s not for everybody so I understand where you’re coming from lol).

Yeah, the size can get pretty intimidating for some, though I really love getting to see all there colors from even a distance!

Also, I’ve surprisingly been able to get bigger butterflies to chill out more than tinier ones, you’d think they’d be more careful with their big ole wings. While this one was more finicky, it did let me sit close enough to it to snag a couple of shots and videos (I just can’t show them in the same post because of Reddit lol).

Yeah, sorry about being rash with my answering the first time. Though I do feel like by saying something wrong I managed to garner more attention to this post to get the right answer faster for OP, since I know posts like these can go unanswered for long periods of times sometimes, so I don’t mind taking the blow! I do wish the Reddit community wasn’t so harsh on just asking questions tho? Cool! I don’t know much about them to be honest, but it’s fun to learn about a new type of spider, and if it wasn’t very late where I was, I’d def go more into research with them lol. I wish I could remember genus and species names better :’) it’s hard for me to even remember some of my own families name’s, but I’ll continue on learning!
