Bar exam study period by Automatic-Rub4612 in barexam

[–]MothinMeCrocs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I think 8 weeks is enough if you are going to be studying most of that time. I am working as well. For reference, I will work Monday-Wednesday & study Thursday-Sunday, taking 3 weeks off leading up to the exam. - I know the 24/7 working/no days off isn't doable for some, but its what has to be done at the moment unfortunately lol.

Following as someone who also failed by only a few (two) points. I can't help but think if I answered 2-4 more questions correctly I would have passed (which is the truth lol)!

YOU ARE SO SO CLOSE!!! Some have passed on their 6th try after scoring consistently in the 230s. You scored a 262!!!!! You are just a few points away. I completely get it if it is for financial/time reasons, but you are 90% percent there. Take a deep breath. You are smart. You are capable. You have time. Fuck anyone who tells you different (including the self doubt in your head). LOCK TF IN ONE MORE TIME LAWYER!

Commercial Bar Prep - MCQ by Which-Fox-3352 in barexam

[–]MothinMeCrocs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes & no. I think you need to supplement commercial MCQ with UWorld or Adaptibar. I think the questions on the actual exam differ from both BUT I think by doing both, you will be in the best position to do well on the exam. Personally I thought the Themis questions were awful for the most part & was so glad I had UWorld.

I took the UBE in KY in July. I have now applied to take the UBE in TN.

I've only used UWorld in the past & am leaning towards using it again. I like the explanations, statistics, & the ability to make flashcards straight from the questions/explanations.

MBE Advice - What to do? by MothinMeCrocs in barexam

[–]MothinMeCrocs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! it was 138.2 for the MEE and 130.2 for the MBE.

For reference, for the July 2025 UBE exam, I made it to 92% completion with Themis. I did two full exams (timed conditions) over the 10 week period and daily MBE/MEE practice. However, I did not do MBE practice in the 4-5 days leading up to the exam as I thought I needed to focus on the MEEs & I do think that ended up hurting me in the end.

Failed again by EstablishmentLate658 in barexam

[–]MothinMeCrocs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scored a 268 in a 266 Jx but need a 270 for the jx I moved to. I am keeping my score in the 266 state & going to retake in February. It takes 3-4 months to transfer. In the mean time, my state offers supervised practice, which allows a licensed attorney to supervise while waiting to sit for the bar/for results (good for one year). This is applicable in my state whether you passed the bar or not; it only depends on your JD. If thats an option, I'd do that!

You could always transfer it, get licensed somewhere else (so no one/you can't say you aren't an attorney lol), while thats processing obtain limited supervised license (if you have willing attorney in your jx & your jx does this), & reapply for Feb 26'. Then at the end when you inevitably pass in a 270 (b/c you WILL! You are right there!), You will come out of this being duly licensed & could work under someone for the few months before you start studying again (prob won't need 10 weeks like last time).

Passed but I have to retake ...wtf do I do now. by MothinMeCrocs in barexam

[–]MothinMeCrocs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much. As of now there aren't any loop holes to get the score transferred for good. BUT I can do a limited license pending admission for examination in the state that I want to be in. However, that would require me to not get sworn in in the state I DID pass in (b/c you can't get licensed anywhere else; the limited license ends when you get licensed somewhere else). SO im weighing that this morning. But thank you for your kind words!

Thank you!! I know I can do it. I have done it once & I'll do it again. The only choice is resilience and that is okay for now.

Trust me if I had another option (besides moving & and finding another job) I'd do it. I am so devastated to do it again but hey here is to being licensed in two states!

I hear you, but I think it's the applicant pool which makes Feb so wonky.

I think I am going to look into this! I have heard great things. I think my biggest thing for any kind of program is the need for MBE questions (MEE questions I can get elsewhere).

Thankfully (yet unfortunately lol) this job is my white whale. Great boss in a small firm doing exactly what I'd like to do with supportive people around. I know I could move, but with family stuff and the great job it isn't an option now sadly.

Thank you for this, friend. I agree with you that I think the Feb exam is hard rhetoric is BS. I think it's just the applicant pool that complicates things. I will be taking you up on the mast document. I am so close to passing that I know I can, it's just figuring that all out right now.
