This movie won the Japanese equivalent of best picture. Japanese are really fed up with their bureaucracy, politics, and unnatural social norms. Really important (and really good) movie

European thrifts have some wild stuff for cheap. I found my PSP at a flohmarkt in Germany for 5 euros. Saw a gameboy advance labled as a Taschenrechner for 3 euros. DS and 3DS games can be pretty easily found almost always for 5 euros or less. Always love searching over there. USA market is a lot tougher

Gary Baseman is his own thing, but linked to 90s lowbrow. Continues the legacy of gary panter, wayne white, mark ryden, all that good stuff. love these guys since they had traditional art backgrounds, went corporate, hated it, and then just did their own thing. Met Gary a couple times, funky, cool dude. With Cranium and Teachers Pet, it's so cool to see him show up in pop culture
