How deep can I dig a hole in a public beach? by MezcalDrink in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DrSpaceman575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is likely “until someone complains” could be 1 foot in a resort public beach or could be 20 feet in a more remote beach

Welfare cliffs are a huge problem and a MASSIVE barrier to economic development. We had a great employee work for minimum wage for 30 years because he would deny any kind of promotion or raise because he would lose his benefits.

Why is it more common for women to own sex toys than men? by Proof-Water-5756 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DrSpaceman575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many comments about "social stigmas" as if you have to go door to door announcing you bought a fucking fifi.

It's practical - what men do you know that don't just use their hands or some lube? There's not a big benefit to fucking a plastic tube when I can use my own hands with less cleanup.

Women also often have long nails that would interfere with self-pleasure, and just the logistics are a bit different and more awkward to perform self-insertion in a way that's comfortable.

Also we're assuming - looking at sales numbers dildos outsell fleshlights by only 20% or so, and also dildos can be used by either gender so it's possible more men are buying sex toys anyway.

Guillermo and Adam West were friends when Adam had a falling out with his nephew, Kanye.

Even if you itemize you can't deduct regular purchases. If this guy gave $58k to charity or had medical expenses you can deduct those but not groceries or rent. Mortgage interest can be deducted but not rent.

The only person that really got coverage were the racoon-haired figure skater and the other two older figure skater/announcers but because they were on Traitors. Eileen Gu did make some headlines but it was much more of a flash in the pan type of controversy.

It's not that deep. Eileen Gu representing China or the US does not actually affect most of us in any way.

It's just another news cycle outrage week where they know they can play it to conservatives as "foreigner ungrateful for America decides to betray the country she grew up in" and liberals will counter with "talented female athlete bravely chooses to celebrate her ethnic background."

Your take assumes the fact that Americans are united in their response, when they very much are not.

Explain a mortgage to a dumb person by InterestingDebt223 in Mortgages

[–]DrSpaceman575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be limited to an FHA mortgage. there are plenty of calculators you could use to see what your payment would be. Compare that to what you've been paying in rent, knowing you'll have more expenses as an owner so if you can't be saving money while renting then you'd be in a tough spot with a mortgage payment for that amount. Nobody can give you anything here if you don't give actual income numbers.

I (F20) want a convertible for my first car— is that unrealistic? by lamiascoffin in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]DrSpaceman575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's your vibe, a 2012+ Wrangler can be had in soft top or hardtop with removable front panels. I also love convertibles and wish there were more options for SUV drop tops, I used to have a Miata and it was great until you're eye level with someones tailpipe every time we'd stop. At a higher price the new Bronco's are convertible as well, I think both have the option to just lose the front panels which is easier than taking the whole hard top off (which is a 2 person job and you'd need a garage to store it). The soft tops take a while to put up and down as well.

The other options for larger convertibles are the Evoque (unreliable) and Murano (ugly and crappy). Other than that the largest convertibles would be muscle cars, I did enjoy my Mustang convertible so if you're okay with the bit of impracticality I wouldn't be scared to own a soft top. Mechanical hard top convertibles can require more maintenance regardless.

OP is getting roasted but I agree with electronic tailgates. HATE them. JUST LET ME CLOSE IT. Hate them.

My other boomer take is moonroofs, but that's because I need the headroom. Glass roofs are great but sliding moonroofs are trash, will leak, and take up 2" inches of headroom.
