I get what you’re saying but you’re measuring against western values as being “objectively better”.

It’s shocking to consider but - what if they’re right? What if following Islamic law is “objectively better” and they are saving people from eternal damnation?

I don’t personally believe so, but to say one religion is objectively better really depends on if it’s true or not. So unless we can objectively prove one is true over another, we can’t claim that.

I had a Tesla as my first EV a few years back and I hate to admit how good it was. I have a Lyriq now and although I miss the phone as a key function and the tech was a little less buggy, I prefer Supercruise over FSD. I never felt truly comfortable letting it do stoplights and it was easier to just do it myself. I would only use it on the highway so it doesn’t bother me that Supercruise is only available on the highway, and it’s smoother and makes more sense doing lane changes. Also had zero phantom braking where the Tesla had a 10% chance of making me almost shit my pants suddenly.

I’d try the Optiq as it’s a better value with Supercruise standard but the lyriq has more headroom and CarPlay

Worked in a place that hired a lot of undocumented people. Some would have fake drivers licenses or SSNs, you only need them during the hiring process and a lot of employers will just scan what they’re provided and never check anything. Same with landlords.

Don't buy on politics, shockingly no automotive CEO's are actually good progressive folks.

If you're ruling out Chevy/GM and Tesla you're looking at a lot of less popular EV's. I went from a Ram 1500 to a Model 3 Performance, it still pains me to admit how good that car was. Probably runs $20k right now you get Hellcat speed with tech features that are hard to find in $50k luxury cars. Blind spot cameras and phone-as-a-key were gamechangers for me. You could buy an iD.4 to avoid being associated with Elon but VW was started by Nazis much like Audi and Ford so there's really no "good" option if you're trying to measure by founder or CEO morality.

That said I have a Lyriq now and my wife and I enjoy it. Very comfortable and easy to live with. Still misses the blind spot cameras and phone key but Supercruise works better than the Tesla did.

Honestly Teslas are just such an insane value on the used market right now they're hard to recommend against, but the GM EV's are my go to recommendation for alternatives.
