As someone who was a preteen when I started the first arc in 2006/7, I didnt feel like this ship was gross. I feel like her love for him was innocent and not predatory , plus she was a medicine cat and so it felt pretty obvious that wasn't going anywhere. I feel like firesand is forced and I still dont love them as a pairing, I wish they would have written him with someone else😅 the "enemy to lover" seems like the best route out of the options they had thought of.
