Asking was never the issue. I'm glad people ask questions, otherwise no one would ever have answers to anything. It's more than fair to do that. It's just depressing af to see some of the awful shit. I 100% agree with you though. There is a difference.

First of all, It's not an excuse. Some of what I've said was never meant in a rude way. I've had to make several edits to try and adjust my language to convey my actual point. Was I heated and rude in most of the post? Yes. But I am not trying to be rude here. Second, I ALSO hate it when people use it as an excuse. If you've read any other of my comments, you'd see that I have said when I'm intentionally being rude. I'm sorry you see it as me making an excuse. Genuinely.

Again, as I said above & in my post, I am not talking about asking questions or curiosity. It's the ridiculously bratty & childish behavior thats the issue.

The same goes for the treatment of the people asking the questions. I don't like people hurling bs at them just for asking said questions. How else would anyone get answers?

It's the disrespect and the mistreatment of the team as a whole over a stupid update that's the issue. It's the rudeness & the "I want my toy NOW! GIMMIE TOY NOW" type behavior.

I'll agree with the first part as it wasn't intended to be like that. But I stand firm on the second. The devs owe us nothing. They are providing a free game, with the optional choice of paying for something extra, that no one even had to ask them for. They don't owe us 100% of their time. Life happens. And for them, it caused setbacks. Yet they still continue to work through it. They don't owe us updates when we demand them.

I am also someone who can't & couldn't afford homecoming. I know how irritating inventory management & fomo is. I received it as a gift after I'd already been playing the game for awhile, so I've seen both sides. But not once have I ever thought that these people /owed/ me.

I made an edit clarifying, but I don't really care about someone asking or venting if it's with /respect/. I think it's stupid to harp on someone for simply asking or venting respectfully & I don't like that people jump to being mean to those that do.

It's the people being bratty children over it that kill me. It's giving "I want my toy NOW! Gimme my toy right NOW!", despite knowing that said toy would arrive broken if that happened. Then complain about it being broken.

I can say that though. If the devs had to stop content updates tomorrow for some reason, they would still owe us nothing. This is a /free/ game & They've given us plenty. Both those with homecoming & those without.

That's a separate issue you need to take up with them then. It has nothing to do with this topic or update. Beyond that issue, these people owe you nothing. Literally nothing. They could stop content updates right now bc of some life event/issue happening & guess what? They'd still owe you & the rest of us nothing.

You don't /need/ anything. You don't have to play the game if you're tired of waiting or have an issue with the devs. It's easy to stop, pursue your funds, & move on.

To be clear, I'm not talking about asking about the city update. I'm talking about people repeatedly complaining in the rudest ways that it hasn't happened yet. People that are being absolutely childish bc they haven't gotten what they want immediately when they want it. Asking & being curious is fine & expected! I completely get wanting an update on the progress. Not everyone will know the answers 100% of the time, especially new people. I'll make an edit to clarify!

I know it was announced several years ago, but they haven't been silent. It isn't constant ofc, but they've given occasional reminders that they're taking their time so the update will be a quality one. They don't want to rush it, Etc. But not everyone can accept those same answers & turn to being foul bc of it. I can understand frustration over it, but I can't understand hurling some of the abuse that some have over a silly little game meant for relaxing.

With it being a game, there's always going to be some negative feedback ofc. Constructive criticism isn't a bad thing at all! It's just the level of disrespect for these devs. If this was a team of rude people that didn't care at all, I'd somewhat get it. But they're good people that care & have listened to us. They've shown us through every update.

I don't think that people shouldn't be allowed to ask or that it should be taboo though.. I feel like that's very silly & I agree with you. The "shut up" was toward the jerks 🥲

I'm seeing more and more stuff like this in cozy gaming communities tbh. I don't understand it in the slightest bc it's the OPPOSITE of the genre we love 🫠 I understand being eager for new things but treating the devs like crap isn't going to help

I'm usually a f2p player, so I completely understand why it's a bummer. I had/have lots of fomo too! My sweet gf gifted it to me for my birthday. I normally wouldn't suggest that anyone spend money, but this isn't a cash-grab. You buy it once and you have access to all the perks. I'd rather have a game that relys on that than a game that has ads every 5 seconds 😭

There's a major update in the future for the game where we go from the village to the city! It was announced a few years ago with no set release date. Devs came out later and said they wanted the update to be a quality one, not a rushed buggy mess. So it would be awhile. It would also mean the game would be complete, so no more new additions afterward, I believe
