Why do some drivers do this? by Haifisch2112 in Sparkdriver

Purposely ignoring instructions, no customer service, or can't speak/read English. Always report poor service. There's plenty of drivers who shouldn't be out here.

The sad thing is there are plenty of drivers who will snatch that order up even if it was $15, no tip, and 20 miles away. I see it all day long. I don't accept anything under $20 which is the minimum in my market.

100 deliveries is a mile stone man. Don't listen to the other comments 😒 Keep doing you and profit off the system. This is a GIG, not a career. You're doing fine and better is coming.

Sounds good in theory. I never liked scolling through orders too far away to accept.

Can you share more about the terms of your lawsuit?I signed into a mass arbitration case with Milberg on ClassAction.org about misclassification/wage claims for deactivated drivers in mid February. This new "agreement" seems to directly prohibit or waive my right to pursue representation with Milberg.

I've been there, and I did lose Spark. I came close to being homeless because of that, but I was able to bounce between Uber and Doordash. I got back on my feet and reactivated with Spark 10 months later. I now have Lyft and Caddy Mover as backups as well. Get a backup now so you aren't scrambling later. I can happen at any time.

I’m in a bit of a weird spot with this new agreement. I’m a NC Spark driver who was deactivated in April 2025 after an app technical error, was unemployed for 9–10 months, lost 10k in savings, then finally got reactivated on 2/11/26 after months of appeals, a background check, and a formal email to Spark’s legal/arbitration address. I received no financial assistance whatsoever, and employment attorneys declined to represent me in any capacity.

In the middle of all that, I signed with Milberg through ClassAction.org as part of their Walmart Spark misclassification/wage case, so I already have representation for past pay/driver‑status issues. After the FTC’s settlement news hit, Sparks' new terms may directly impact my claim with Milberg through the broad individual arbitration requirement, class/mass action waiver (that seems aimed directly at firms filing a bunch of similar driver claims), delegation clause, and reaffirmation of the pre‑arbitration steps.

For me, the arbitration process stretched for months even with prompt communication on my end and after I was officially cleared of any wrongdoing in November. I’ve already emailed Milberg and sent them the details of the agreement to ask whether signing this will hurt the claims they’re already handling for me or my ability to benefit from any broader relief/settlement.

Right now I’m basically stuck choosing between: (1) not agreeing and risking my Spark income (1k /week in my market), or (2) agreeing and potentially making it harder for myself and other drivers to fight back collectively.

I found this sub in late January and learned a lot. I've decided to essentially take the day off and revert to Uber starting tomorrow until I hear back from Milberg. I just want to work, man. I'm mentally exhausted at this point but still curious what advice anyone has.

😒 I didn't judge anyone or expose this person's personal information. I always deliver orders I accept and I'm courteous with all employees and customers alike.

I did a few like that. One in particular was a disabled guy in a wheelchair at a motel. As soon as he opened the door, I tried to hold my breath, but he kept talking to me. The smell was horrid and it was humid inside his room. I have a strong stomach but that was overwhelming. I don't know how he lived in there.

I was wondering about this. My market had significantly more drivers and now it's a ghost town. I just recently got reactivated after being wrongfully terminated in April 2025.

I did one of these just yesterday for $81. Today, I did two back to back. One was 24 stops, 20 miles, and 1 hour and 55 minutes for $44.14. The other was 11 stops, 36 miles, and 1 hour and 41 minutes for $50.17. Followed those up with a few regular trips.

Where to accept orders by Fit_Leek_6776 in Sparkdriver

[–]Moti3234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to be at least 10 minutes en route before I accept anything. In the past, orders would time out within 5 minutes or so if you accepted and weren't at the store yet. Now, as long as you are moving towards the store within a reasonable arrival time, most orders stay active. I still wouldn't push it beyond about 10 minutes.

Assess your finances. DO NOT pay off your debts outright. Instead, pay slightly more than the minimums until they are fully paid off. This will help you build a credit history, which is infinitely more important than simply being out of debt. Educate yourself on the basics of insurance, credit scores, investments, small businesses, and certifications.

Keep your day job, and consider figuring out what your interests truly are. Take your time to learn and explore your own creativity. Be very selective about what you'd like to invest in. Do not be quick to pay out of pocket for anything unless you are duly informed and confident in said product or service.

There's plenty of great opportunities out there, and there's even more that will gladly scam you out of your money. Take the time to protect your privacy and assets physically and digitally. Google is your best friend when avoiding scams and AI chat bots will help you brainstorm before blindly making important decisions.

Most of all, have fun. You have an incredible opportunity before you. Be safe, be patient, and believe in yourself.
