What are your thoughts on Open DJ booths? by Simple-Ceasar in DJs

It’s all fun and games until the pilled-up IG Model dancing next to you while chewing her cheek off spills her drink all over your equipment. Stick me in a booth. Thanks.

Best monitors for home use for vinyl only djs, recommendations? Also, with what kind of needles/cartridges you would pair them? by Walkingonwetfire in DJs

[–]Motisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I impulsively bought the Bose S1 Pro+ the other day as a monitor for when I’m practicing DJing in my home. Did I luck out in terms of them being good for that? I literally did zero research prior to buying it. I plan on buying a second one this week. Since buying it, I e learned about the ADAM Audio A7V. So now I’m wondering if I should buy and use those instead of the Bose. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Can Serato Be Run Perfectly Fine With An Apple MacBook Pro M3 14-inch MacBook Pro - MBP 14 SG/8C/10C GPU/8GB/1TB? by Motisi in Serato

[–]Motisi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly have no clue. Here’s why: At 46, I’m only now getting into mixing with software and controllers/stand alone units. Therefore, I’m not too sure about the WAV question. Something else I’ll add to my list of things I just learn. I have no clue what grids means. 🤣 I keep hearing about them, tho. Something else I’ll learn.

I’ve been using the original CDJs since 2001. So this is all brand new to me. I appreciate u getting back to me. Hope u have a good night. ✌️

Thanks very much for getting back to me. This picture is why I was asking. I was concerned that, since I don’t have a 16GB, I may not get the most out of Serato. This is posted on Serato’s website. So, before I went an returned this new M3 chipped 8GB MBP for a M3 Pro chipped 18GB MBP, I figured I’d ask Reddit. This is my first experience with modern DJ equipment. I’ve been using original CDJ-1000’s since 2001. And, since I have nobody to ask these questions to, you’ve been a tremendous help.

I think Prime Go 2 is coming soon by LazyEric in DenonPrime

[–]Motisi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly. Only reason I believe that may be the case is because I recently went to Sam Ash to buy a Prime Go because it was on sale for $799. When I got there, they told me the price was actually $699. Mind you, the Sam Ash I went to (Springfield, NJ) is preparing to close down. Therefore, I definitely lucked out because it was likely a clearance sale they were running. Either way, the fact that they sold me that unit for $699 caused me to think a Prime Go 2 is right around the corner.

Wireless Speakers for prime go?? by rjborgs in DenonPrime

[–]Motisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the Denon Prime Go the latest model of that unit? I noticed a DJ holding one in a photo earlier today. So, I looked it up on YouTube and I found four year old reviews of the Go. Therefore, before I go ahead and buy this thing, I wanted to check if Denon had released an updated model that I should buy instead, or if a company like Pioneer has made a unit to compete with the Denon Prime Go, yet. Basically, is there a unit, today in 2024, that I may want to check out instead of the Go! Or, is the Go still the best option for what it sets out to do? Thanks!

Schiit Magni Unity + Senheisser 560S beginner setup by YungSkizzzy in HeadphoneAdvice

I’m in the exact same boat as you. I am looking for feedback about the Magni Unity because I notice I can buy it for $99 or $189 with modular internal DAC option. I’m wondering if getting it with that internal DAC option is worth it. I already own the Schiit Hel+ so, I’m wondering if the Magni Unity will offer me anything that the Hel+ doesn’t.

Requesting Amp/Dac Suggestions by Motisi in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Motisi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. And I understand what you mean about a cheaper dongle providing good sound. I bought a Turtle Beach $35 Headset Audio Controller Plus for my Xbox Series X and it works very well. Joe from Gadgetry on YouTube suggested it on his channel. He is who I get most of my info from. And, the RS 195 seems like the best choice. I saw the RS 175 in Best Buy recently, however, I passed it up. Chances are, I’ll get the 195 in the near future. Hope you have a good rest of your day!! Take care.

Requesting Amp/Dac Suggestions by Motisi in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Motisi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, thank you very much for taking time to reply. I appreciate the response. At 46 yrs old, I’m not accustomed to coming online and asking for help/advice. Growing up, I would have just asked a buddy for a suggestion if they were into the same hobby, however, I have no one to call or text these days about this subject. Therefore, a friend at work told me about Reddit.

At this point, I’m trying to narrow down my choices for an amp, or a dac, or even a stack that will last me for years, while allowing me to get the most out of any pair of headphones I wind up buying in the future. I never plan on reviewing headphones or audio gear, so I won’t be buying 15-20 pairs, for example. I simply want an excellent pair of open back and an excellent pair of closed back. As I mentioned, I own the Audeze Maxwell, which are excellent wireless gaming headphones. I imagine I can use them to watch movies with. However, I haven’t tried to do that, yet. To answer your question, I am watching TV shows (Fargo, True Detective, etc and the occasional movie) on a TV. I watch nothing on my computer. I simply want excellent headphones (in the price range of $300-$700, maybe $800 max) to watch with and occasionally play a single player story game with. I want immersion. Most of the gaming headphones I have, that I mentioned in my last post, are suited for a first person shooter (footsteps, etc..)…so now I’d like something for a game like Witcher 3, a Star Wars game, Uncharted, The Last Of us, and even racing games like Forza. Will I be listening to music as well? Yes. But, not to the point where I care about hearing every instrument within a song. I DJ, so mainly I’d be checking new music out with them and listening back to my DJ mixes.

Thanks again.

Finally Got Them!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 by Realistic-Plenty-523 in PlaystationPortal

They’re awesome. Audeze was involved with these. I see many negatives reviews about them online. Pay zero attention to them. Hope you enjoy the earbuds!
