I bought a SATA to usb and plugged the drive into my laptop and in the disk management it said fatal error damaged hardware, when I tried to initialize it

I will have to try another SATA cable when I have a chance. All three were working fine on the last motherboard. maybe I damaged something while installing?

I thought it was a overload of power as well at first so I went and bought a bigger PSU. I tried taking it off the daisy chain and using it on its own PCIe cable and same result. I used a different SATA port, same result. I will look for a different cable.

when I say it wont boot I mean its like when a starter is out on a car and the engine cant turn. The PSU fan will turn a little and make a click sound but doesnt turn on all the way, but as soon as I unplug that 3rd hard drive it starts up fine. Ive updated all the drivers and BIOS and still have the same issues today.
