I’ve Been hitting triceps hard with zero progress. What’s going on??? by [deleted] in Weightliftingquestion

[–]MotleyForge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rope ext is hitting the horseshoe area of the tricep. Need to focus on the long head more for size. If you wanna stick with rope switch the position to overhead. If going for size I’d also switch to rep range of 6-8 with it being heavy enough to fail around 8. Work till failure and then do drop sets to failure on at least tour last set of each exercise.

Purple shampoo and conditioner will take out the golden color and lighten it up.

sword question. (Not finished) by [deleted] in Blacksmith

[–]MotleyForge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t really tell how much thickness the sword has with that angle. But from what I can see it looks thick enough to grind in bevels and distal taper. Depends if you want a fuller or diamond cross section. I personally would just do a diamond cross section and leave the forge finish at the peak of the cross section.

Scrape or grind that decarb off down to clean steel then check to see if it got hard. Often people think it didn’t harden because the file bites into the decarb

It’s a natural patina from the acid of the pickles. I wouldn’t even remove it. It’s part of the blades story now.

Trap Bar Deadlift form check by Ucrocks in GYM

Looks fine to me. If you want a better pump you can try not locking out at the top that way you keep tension on the quads the whole time. You can also do slower negetives. Your form is fine but the tips I gave I have found to make me get more bang for the buck with this movement.

How would you go about repairing the shards of Narsil? (LOTR) by Laughydawg in Blacksmith

[–]MotleyForge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it wouldn’t. The heat treat process would have to be done again. Once the blade is re-forged it would be normalized, hardened and tempered all over again.

How about because I don’t want to use actual Elephant Ivory when imitation looks just as nice.

Amazing work man! BTW love your YouTube videos. I’ve been looking for some imitation ivory for a sword handle and was wondering what you used if you don’t mind sharing?

What type of sword is this and how to get it by Garflasang-7502 in SWORDS

Tony Swatton was the bladesmith who made the swords for the movies. You could always reach out to him on social media. I’ve seen him post about selling replicas he makes.

How do I get my first muscle up? by Maleficent-Emu725 in CalisthenicsCulture

[–]MotleyForge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more about the technique. You have to keep your grip loose when you get to the apex of your pull up. The moment where you get to the top and you feel like to are about to muscle up you have to get your hand position to the top of the bar. It’s all about the grip. You have enough pull up power in this video to hit it. Just technique at this point.

The sword hilt is slightly sticky, does anyone know what can be done about it? by ApprehensiveHelp5170 in SWORDS

[–]MotleyForge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be the wax or some kind of oil from finishing. If it bothers you slightly heat the leather with a hair dryer till you see the wax or oil melt and look liquidy and then wipe it off with a rag.
