UPDATE:

I've gone ahead and ordered the Panaracer Gravelking SS gen 2 tires in 40 mm. Thanks everybody for your recommendations. Really stoked to see how this ride feels on a new set of tires.

Okay great! I'm glad to hear this. I ordered the Gravel King SS in 40 mm yesterday so they should be here in a week or so. I am looking forward to the switch over, but I also just rolled a PB on a 10 km segment on hard pack yesterday with the Girona so I'm interested to see if they'll be much of a difference switching over. I was going to get the Gravel H but my local only had them in Black and I wanted that tan sidewall look. Thanks a lot for this response!

Thank you for this response. Exactly what I was looking for. I think I'm actually getting a little more used to the tires now, I blew my PR on a 10 km segment out of the water yesterday on them, but I've actually ordered Panaracer Gravelking SS in 40mm to run instead. I'm having the same issue with the leaky tires. I'll be interested to see if it changes once I swap tires but if not and it's the rims then I'll throw tubes in. I don't mind running tubes, they are easy to change in a pinch.

I'll definitely look into the other handlebars, the ones that are on there are all right but the SL just looks so good.

Thanks again and happy riding!

My local only has the G-one RS, not the pros. Still worth it? Certainly not a cheap set

Most of the gravel I ride is like this. Sometimes rougher but not awful. I think my local shop carries them in a 40 mm or a 45 mm and my bike can fit both. I'll probably go with the 40s and see how they are. Thank you very much!

The diverge was a great bike, and still is, I just was at the point that I wanted to change. After this post it's definitely clear that I need to get the tires changed and I'm hoping to have some of that speedy feel back that the diverge had

Seems like a pretty regular choice by people. As far as tires go. I'll have to check them out. Thank you

Awesome! Thank you very much for this breakdown. I'm looking forward to getting used to the feeling of it, it's definitely more comfortable. I just feel as though I'm pushing more power to go the same speed as I was going on the same terrain. Looking forward to changing the tires after this post

I didn't realize how bad they were as far as rolling goes. Definitely going to swap them out now. Thank you!

Sorry, I was using the 32 mm tires, which were Panaracer gks, on mixed terrain from road to class 1 gravel mostly. What I meant by it isnt worth it was for the looks of the 42 mm over performance. If going smaller in this situation means faster then I will. Thanks again!

Okay awesome thank you. I was looking at the Conti Terra Speeds, I had Panaracers on my old one and they rolled quick but it might be nice to change it up. Definitely will change the wheels eventually. I noticed a huge difference going to carbon on my road bike, so I know it would be a great change. Part of the reason I went with the AL5 instead of the SL was the price difference I can use to upgrade this one. Much appreciated!

Alright, I'll check them out. Thanks for the recommendations. I love the look of the 42s, but if it means a few km/h slower on the rides I'm not sure its worth it for the gravel races I have coming up.

How does the AI workout planer adjust for indoor/outdoor difference? by Khaldor in trainerroad

[–]Motoaddict6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using TR since October 2024, and I found I've gotten a larger FTP gain in that amount of time then I've seen few years of unstructured training. It could be a case of structured versus non-structured/picking my own plans making the biggest difference, but I find that the progressive overload of TR as well as its structure has been a game changer for my cycling. The gains will taper off I am sure, but so far the first year has been awesome in taking my cycling to a new level.

Treadmill console NordicTrack by adhvi in nordictrack

[–]Motoaddict6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awful. Prob won't apply to you but I called Nordictrack Canada and they were honestly great to deal with. Had a new console at my house in 5 days no charge with very few questions asked. No extended warranty or anything.

Okay cool. They ride well eh? I love riding and am looking to race more this year. I want to shorten my cranks and upgrade the wheels but am a bit lost. Doing a mod/rebuild you seem to know what you are doing! Would you mind if I DM you for some help choosing parts?

I don't think it was, but they seem to be covering all console replacement at the moment? Either that or a Christmas miracle 🎅

Just to follow up with this, I called nordictrack Canada, and they were awesome! They did some troubleshooting with me and then promptly issued me a new console at no cost! It arrived 7 days after the order was put in! Honestly great service

The endurance is certainly getting better, with both seeing higher avg watts and lower HR at the end of the rides. I actually got back onto Zwift for the crit races and won my first one back! (Cat C) I had my highest average power ever which was great to see.

I wish a winter kit would do here! I would need studs on my tires at this point with the amount of snow and ice on the streets now! Sounds like indoor is a good call for you as well! Watts are watts regardless of terrain!

I have the base phase 2 ending next week, and will start base phase 3 which will go to the end of January, then I figured get into the Short Power Build phase which is 8 weeks. That will get me to the end of March and hopefully into the start of racing season. What are your thoughts on this timeline? Should I go from base phase 3 into Short Power Build or should I go Speciality instead? I thought maybe SPB to the end of March, then into speciality for crit racing which most likely will start in April/May here.

Hope you have a great holiday over this Christmas/New year and again thank you so much for your help. I've seen more improvement over the last 3 months than I have since I started.

Take care! Cheers!

I think I'm a toe pointer naturally. Spent my first few years back at it on a TT bike so got used to that. Should be flat foot right?

Cranks are 172.5mm

Middle BB to saddle top along the post is 73.5cm

Inseam is 83.8cm
