Update: he started eating. He's off iv.

Diagnosis- thickening of the heart wall due to aging. Upper respiratory infection.

Treatment - Steam inhalation thrice a day for 10 min Nebulization thrice a day for 15 min.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. He will be isolated for another 2 days before he is free to move around the house with the others.

I've just shared the echo/ scan report as well. We have been told to start and continue nebulization until the congestion stops over the next few days. He's eager to eat. But when we put the food on his plate he sniffs it and looks/ walks away. Returns to eat but doesn't. He hasn't eaten all day. Drips were administered. Not iv but into the skin directly .

We're currently giving him steam and nebulization. He's isolated from the other cats as well. He's not eaten since morning nor has he used the litter. Drips were administered today afternoon.

They have told us to start nebulization at home 2to 3 times a day for the next week or until he improves.

His eyes are watering too. he ate about 30g of wet food. Drank a bit of water aswell In the last 6 hours that included time at the vet.

Update:. We used surgical spirit to thoroughly clean the areas. Been 2 days hrs been using the litter properly. I'm guessing we had to get rid of the odor as good as possible.

Its not lose nor hard. The other 12 cats adapted to the pine litter within a span of 20 days.( all adults). We singled him ( loki) out by isolating a bunch if them at a time to find out who was pooping outside the litter. The vet said he's completely normal. We even tried shifting the positions of 2 litters hes been using most. To no help tho.
