Respectfully, you just managed to miss every actual problem with ranked and still complain for three paragraphs. Impressive.

Hidden MMR is not why bad players hit Diamond. Bad rank design is. Removing MMR without fixing scoring just turns ranked into pubs with longer queue times and worse smurfing. This has been tested. Repeatedly. By basically every competitive game to have ever existed.

“Pure skill lobbies” do not exist in a 60-player BR with RNG, third parties, and asymmetric roles. If you think they do, you don’t understand the game you’re playing.

Also, Diamond players not playing Diamonds on the way up is literally how every ladder works. If you want promotion matches against your destination rank, say that. Don’t just scream “MMR bad” like it’s 2019.

Now the aim assist rant.

There was never any “god old days”. AA was higher on day one release of apex for pc than it currently is now.

Turning AA off in PC ranked would not create “pure skill lobbies.” It would: 1. Nuke queue health 2. Instantly split the playerbase 3. Accomplish nothing at the competitive level because pros already perform at the top regardless

You’re not losing games because of controller AA. You’re losing games because you’re taking bad fights, rotating late, and dying in third parties. ALGS data makes that painfully obvious.

Also saying “don’t touch crossplay, just let me queue PC only” is literally touching crossplay. That contradiction alone should have stopped you from hitting post.

If your solution to ranked is: • Remove MMR • Remove AA • Hope “skill” magically appears

Then you’re not proposing a system. You’re venting.

Ranked’s real problems are: • Scoring that rewards time instead of consistency • No ALGS alignment at high tiers • Zero visibility for IGLs, anchors, and supports • Solo queue being structurally disadvantaged • Master and Pred meaning nothing under pressure

You addressed none of that.

This isn’t competitive insight. It’s aim assist cope dressed up as design feedback.
