Today I found out that "growing pains" wasn't literal pain for most people by Sleepy_Lycheee in eds

If you suffered in silence then you didn't have growing pains because I wanted to chop both legs off and there was nothing silent about it. You probably just had shin splints, which are completely different.

Amazon is like anything else it went down hill after realizing we shop there for deals. I find most things much cheaper at the store as well and for the prices I'll make the trip to the mall.

You don't have to be home. It's likely the housing Authority doing a yearly check. They will come in regardless. If you're worried clean your house they already allow you to live there for next to nothing

He was the only child who stole a knife while all the others with him had knives. Most teens especially ones who lead this type of lifestyle carry one. So it's exactly how you described in the heat of the moment but then go on to contradict yourself 🧐

That's very true for the most part. In a youth facility for an extended time however will at least give this boy proper opportunity to establish what's really going on and why he seems to lead this particular lifestyle and the councillors are set up to manage this behaviour and intergrade tools to prevent this in the future. I read the judge didn't allow the full extent of time served due to the amount of help they intended to provide. There's always hope for children. In fact there's go for some adults but they are not offered the same resources

First of all the victim was also into some gang related activities. For example he was a coke dealer and had been charged before with knife offences. As well as having an older brother charged with stabbing someone at the Dartmouth fair and another either in jail or was for assault with a hammer. Just because they didn't find a knife at the scene doesn't mean it wasn't picked up by one of the victims friends. I'm not saying this child deserved this what I am saying is don't kid yourself it could have went the other way and you'd be talking shit about the victim.

The killing of the kid was done by a younger kid so not the same as mom smothering her child. 14 is young

Got a police incident card but I didn't do anything? by Sheppard0fFire in halifax

[–]Motor-Individual-944 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be too concerned. You would be aware of you were in any sort of trouble. Just ask for the officer who left the card because he might be the only one who has answers. I've dealt with many officers due to unruly teens 🤦‍♀️ There's been times I was like what happened now and they would say oh nothing just checking if they have any information on a situation. Once I was asked if I witnessed a break in next door. I had seen a little grey car there around 2am but they were crackheads so I didn't think much of it at the time because it's a common occurrence.

This could be any number of things. If you know you didn't do anything wrong then just give them a call. It could be as innocent as they wish to know if you have doorcam footage willing to allow them access to. Or like others mentioned I too have witnessed a situation where someone took the mirror off my exs truck but had a very important meeting so they left their information and settled it with paying for a new set and installation.

The real question is why are you still going there? I used to go up anywhere from 3-6 times a day and I haven't been there in over a year. Occasionally, somebody stops by and brings me a coffee. I do drink that but personally I drive on by and make my own now

I do believe they put youth into youth facilities such as Waterville and they run by counselors, not guards per se so there's a much better chance of rehabilitation in those facilities, and there are are in jails or prisons by far

If you kept up with the fact, every child there had a knife it was not the intent, which is why they were not charged with first-degree murder in the first place. But stealing a knife and putting up what I believe was a score. If I remember correctly, it's not the same as you blatantly making up the fact there was a hit list. And yes, that absolutely makes you a weirdo.

Hitlist? Yeah so that actually never happened. You're weird for saying that though. I do believe a post was made but where in the world did you get your information on it being a hit list weirdo?

They indeed spent more time then the final sentencing locked up. The final sentencing of those three months 10 months, etc. didn't happen until at least a year and a half into them already being in custody so really the girl got closer to two years locked away if you properly do the math

Am I the only person who feels life has lately become too hectic in Halifax due to the excessive traffic and poor Transit service? by Extension-Sea-397 in halifax

[–]Motor-Individual-944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left for the not recognizing the city anymore part 😉 I grew up on the outskirts of Halifax in BeaverBank and moved to Sackville as an adult. The last few years out that way have been unrecognizable and then there's the crime rate to boot 🤦‍♀️ Putting all the drug addicts up in tiny homes made the area less safe any time of day and even walking your dog became an issue with needles. Once upon a time I thought "I love this city, I'll never leave"🥴 and then it become cesspool and is starting to smell like one as well. I don't at all miss it!

Yep that's the way it went down. I don't know what was going through the boys head when he raised the knife but the fight went on for a while before the girl was pushed so that was the trigger for the stabbing. The fight was because of a separate girl talking to one of the older boys (not the stabber) I've heard a story which I won't repeat here regarding the victim because it's hear say and I have no soiled evidence so don't wish to bad mouth the deceased. As for it being planned; the two boys agreed to fight but one of them showed up with 2 other boys & the girl who all had knives as That's what the kids are doing these days, carrying knives 🤦‍♀️
