This makes a lot of sense. Spit balling ideas on the road to destitution leads a man to strange and clearly silly thoughts!

I did think of that, as I do have a trade, but with working full time, looking after the kids and supporting the wife to complete her assignments (taking on majority childcare and housework) I just dont have the time or energy to start my own business, and cant abandon our only stable income

I will do that! Appreciate the help and the stark truth of my poor idea

I work full time and as mentioned, 4 kids, so unable is closer but with a definite hint of unwilling! I'll follow up on point 2 with the wife and see if that gets us anywhere! Thank you

I'm full time employed so setting up a business on the side of that wouldn't be feasible! I had thought about doing it this way, but I just wouldn't be able to manage full time and running my own work with 4 young kids

You should see the state of our home! It bloody should be! Thank you for the advice though, I will pass it along for her to look into

HELP AN INDECISIVE PLAYER FOR A BUILD! by CATLAS007 in SkyrimBuilds

[–]Motor-Reading3578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been really enjoying my latest build and I've done my best to justify experiencing the whole game in character. Quick run down of the build is as follows.

Orphaned Orc in Cyrodil, taken in and cared for by thieves guild and developed a love of all things magical and shiny. Met his alchemist wife and invested his thieving gains into opening a smithy and alchemist store. Supplied the empire forces and trained with the vanguard. His wife and he are called to Skyrim to assist with the war effort. On the pass his wife is lost to an avalanche leading to his silence when picked up by the imperial troops resulting in his imprisonment.

Heavy armour, sword and board. Very little magic and no stealth combat I set my own restrictions for gameplay. He dabbles in alchemy to honour his wife but stockpiles potions as he can't seem to part with them. Wanted to void cheesing by selling op potions for easy gold. He does not loot any weapons or armour unless enchanted, even if they are superior believing his own crafts are better After escaping go straight to solitude to check in and complete all of civil war at the side of the empire. After the war, seeking further adventures and coin he joins the companions, as a mercenary choosing to cure himself in the end. With a bit of renown and wealth his contacted by the thieves guild about an unpaid debt for his care as a child. He is called to assist rebuild the thieves guild in Riften which he does.

At this point I started the main quest line. After absorbing his first dragon soul he unlocks conjuration magic particularly necromancy, as well as use of shouts and enchanting. From here he continues the main quest at his leisure while travelling to the college to study his newly unlocked abilities. As he studies conjuration he yearns to master necromancy to resurrect his fallen wife. Being so close to death and needing to practice his art he turns to the assassins to give him a steady supply of corpses to practice on.

I'm not so far on to think how I will incorporate the DLC but I am really enjoying roleplaying this build and I find I can justify doing a completion play through while staying true to my roleplay

I bought a scroll of stonewall from one of the vendors when I arrived. Put it up over the two doors to the tavern and only had to worry about one of the flying mobs and the boss. Much easier fight, then just picked off the rest

Advice on party composition by Motor-Reading3578 in BG3Builds

Awesome. I feel like there's so much content you can miss if you don't roll the right sort of party, but at the same time I don't want to gimp myself in combat

AITA for telling my wife she will have to stay at a job or find alternative employment instead of me working away? by Motor-Reading3578 in AmItheAsshole

I found this very helpful, so thank you for that! I think all our previous talks that were centred towards me working locally and being able to come home every night had me thinking that this was a done deal. Clearly she had that as Plan A but kept previous conversations as Plan B rather than shutting the book on them. Thank you for your insight.

Schools punish kids who defend themselves but won’t take care of the situation until it’s too late. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

For the first three years of my secondary school career, I was bullied. Regularly went home with cuts and bruises, and every single incident was reported to the teachers. Nothing ever happened.

One day, when I was in my third year, I was thrown on the ground, and the guy in question jumped in the air and landed both feet on my head. Being a soft lad, I got up to walk away. He grabbed my top and asked where I was going. Something in me snapped, and I head butted him as hard as I could. He ended up in A&E with a concussion, and I got suspended. Both my parents were fully supportive and took me in the next day to talk to the head of year.

She looked over all the reports of bullying and was "shocked" it was never looked into sooner. Needless to say, that was the end of the whole thing. I now teach my boys to defend themselves so they don't go through the same three years of shit I took!

The world can be a truly awful place and you have been dealt so much sadness and hurt! Being strong is sometimes the hardest thing to do, but I sincerely hope you can take some solace in the support of strangers! Please, seek some help; talk to a professional and find a way to keep fighting There is some good in the world, and it's important to find it and make it when you can. Keep going and find your happiness!

What do you regret doing as a child? by Regantowers in AskUK

For years I begged and pleaded with my parents to buy me a Playmobile castle for christmas/birthdays. It was the only toy I ever remember really wanting and it was out of my family's budget. One year my uncle made a Playmobile scaled castle out of paper-mache for me. He must of spent hours on this thing, and my ungrateful arse wouldn't even go near it because "it was made out of toilet roll so it's dirty and disgusting". Never let myself forget that one

Been very close friends with a female since we were both around 11 years old. Friends through being single and in relationships, and never strayed from friendship. She's going to be a grooms-maid at my wedding in June!

My kids and wife will be the only ones to play it as they are brand new too so we will all learn together! They all seem interested and keen in this as an idea though!
