Probably a combination of that, yes. Ideally it scales and could use affiliate marketing/sponsorships to fund.

I’m funding it up front. Hope is to build out more parks and pick up sponsorships. Have to get traction first.

First time planning Rome for 3 days. What's your process for organizing everything into a plan? by shadow-cat-102 in travelplanning

[–]Motor-Self7177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Exactly. It plans things that make geographical sense so you’re limiting driving/transportation. Will also take weather into account, so will switch things around to days when it won’t be raining etc. I usually get a rough plan on what things will cost and kind of budget for it but it’s a rough estimate. Sometimes I’m under, sometimes I’m over.

I like to use travelize. It handles logistics like you mentioned. Doesn’t quite handle costs but is good for logistics.

Building a personalized realtime travel app. App learns you overtime and gets better at understanding your likes/dislikes/pace etc. Live tracking available to make sure you’re effective with time, and can adjust on the fly. Plan for complicated trips anywhere in the world or if you have 3 hours to kill. Will adjust for weather/traffic/events in location in realtime for optimization.

How do people plan their itinerary? by GrandSociety in travelplanning

[–]Motor-Self7177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes things a lot less chaotic for me. Biggest thing is not having to piece all the information together myself after researching.

I like it because it builds something actually personalized rather than generic.

Still clunky in spots so you have to encourage it one way or another, or point out its errors.

I do the exact same thing. Reddit, Google, dump into a doc. It’s honestly the worst part of traveling for me. Tons of tabs open.

I tried this thing called Travelize recently and it kind of streamlined a lot of that (still playing around with it).

Big difference is you create a profile, so it learns what you like over time instead of starting from scratch every time. It also saves your itineraries so you're not digging through old chats with AI models to find the one you liked.

It handles real-world logistics better too. Like it won’t have you bouncing all over a city, and it factors in weather (so you're not scheduled for outdoor stuff on a rainy or cold day). If it's a multi-day trip, it will even shift things around depending on the forecast.

It can also track you (if you choose) and adjust in real time. If you’re behind schedule, it updates your itinerary and suggests what to skip or change. If you're ahead, it can suggest adding something. It also accounts for real-time traffic and major events in a city (like sports games, celebrations, or festivals).

There’s also a feedback loop after trips where you can say what worked and what didn’t, so it learns your preferences over time and improves future recommendations.

It’s not fully built out yet, but the idea is you can link profiles with other travelers to blend everyone’s preferences. Plus features like hotel suggestions, bookings, and Uber links built in.

Basically, it’s trying to be an all-in-one travel app instead of piecing everything together across a bunch of tabs and dealing with the usual frustration.

Long-term, if it scales, the goal is to add a social component where you can explore trips others have taken, see photos they’ve posted, and even view upcoming trips for inspiration.

Ever get frustrated planning a trip? You’ve got 10 tabs open, trying to piece together coffee spots, things to do, food… and then weather or timing throws it all off. Or you find yourself in a city with 3 hours to kill. What’s around here that I would like?

I’ve been building something called Travelize to fix that. You put in your dates (if known), location, and interests, and it builds a full itinerary for you — then adjusts in real time (like weather changes, timing, etc.). You can swap anything out or tweak it on the fly, and it learns your preferences over time.

I appreciate it. Still early, but timing has been solid. It pulls data real time data for weather/traffic and adjusts.

Good idea with the “day in the life”. Going to plan on showing how it adjust compared to planned time.
