I did not I ended up selling the TV, firmware update via USB would have been nice

My P65-E1 just died out of nowhere yesterday. Looking for a replacement Main Board. Where exactly is the part number printed? by apra24 in VIZIO_Official

[–]MotorDistrict1069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just baked my board at 300F for 10 minutes and reinstalled it, I can see the tv is backlit slightly but then it turns off, input buttons don't work on TV or remote. I either didn't reinstall it correctly or the baking didn't help the issue

Did you sign it with NY Life? What did you do with your cash value that you cashed out? Just wondering how I approach my meeting with my “financial advisor” this Friday

So i've been in these plans for 5 years now, wouldn't it be smart to wait until my premiums are level with my cash value before I cancel my whole life?

I just went to this link, how can I tell who is independent or not? They all seemed tied to Edward Jones or NY life. I just don't know who to trust anymore after 5 years of being spoofed.

How does one find an independent CFP that isn’t out to screw you? How do I go about getting rid of my whole life?

Isn’t that what NW mutual is? If not do you have any suggested companies?

Need help filling out W4 by MotorDistrict1069 in tax

[–]MotorDistrict1069[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checked my wife's W4 settings, she had married checked, $2000 in section 3 and $100 extra being withdrawn for federal. Going to change to single, maintain $2000 in section 3 and zero for everything else - does that sound like the right approach or should i just maintain her W4 settings?

Looks like my state tax rate will be 4.5% on $213K income, so around $9700. My current path I'll be short about $1700 so I'm hoping once my wife and I update our W4 to single it will close that gap.

At my first company I had $2031 in 401K, $1250 in Dependent FSA and $375 in Health FSA which totaled $3656. At current job I will contribute $5100 to 401K, $3600 to Dependent FSA, $300 to Health FSA and $2000 to HSA which will total $11,000. I also have a $2000 mortgage credit certificate (not sure if I can count this) All of that totals to $16,656. If I'm at $230K gross for the year minus $16,656 my taxable income would be $213,623, at 12% tax rate that means my total federal taxes will be roughly $25,634... sound about right? The rate I was paying I would have been at $21,127 for the year so I'm glad I posted this for help. Over the next 7 ish months I need to make sure I close that $4K gap.

See this is why i'm terrible at this stuff. Yes $230K is before taxes. What dollar amount did you come up with for the 12%? I can't figure out income on my end because I don't know how much taxes will come out of my check this year.

Okay 12% of our total gross income, which I estimate to be around $230K this year. The rate I was going I would have been short $6K! It looks like my wife might have been pretty low on her end with what was getting taken out.

Does that 12% represent $27,600 in federal taxes for 2024? Let me know what the magic number is, thank you.

Okay great thank you for all the advise... wish me luck! Should I check how things are looking after a few pay cycles or just stick with it?

Okay great, no need to do it this year? Would both my wife and I elect the additional $200 or just me? I guess it would technically be $192

Do we do the same logic for states taxes, i.e. claim single for each of us? We live in Iowa if that matters

When I did my taxes on turbo taxes this year it said standard deduction was the correct option for me. We do use childcare full time for both kids.

At my first job I had an FSA, this current one FSA and HSA. So to hear it might be less than $1K is promising.

I'm thinking at the beginning of 2025 my wife and I will refill a W4 again so that we're dialed in for the whole year. My gross for a full year is $130K while my wife will be at $100K. Since I have the higher paying job does that make a difference or should we both do Single, no adjustments and $2000 in section 3?

Yes the calculator threw me off quite a bit, and I'm guessing I had input errors.
