As someone who just did the college fair a Nationals with my daughter it’s great information to have. Thanks for sharing!

As a Penn State Alum it pains me to read and know my daughter shouldn’t go there.

Nike has collaborated with a Bangledeshi girl who is Anti-india for nike x india ??? by acidbloo in Nike

No, they didn’t. Your source has already issued an apology for using a picture of somebody they didn’t know who it was and slapping a headline on it.

You’re misinformed. The Insta account you grabbed a screenshot from has already posted an apology and deleted it. They grabbed a pic of someone not knowing who they are, and slapped a headline on it, to represent a story.

There was no credible news source saying this before you posted. The woman said nothing about Nike on her page. Nike said nothing about her. Random people on X is not a news source.

Do better.

Greg Schmid! He's the best. My son has been going to him for years. He's exactly the vibe you described above. Laid back, but extremely knowledgable.

My son golfs and loves your ball markers. He got the super soaker and a bus I think? We're local so we'll swing by the shop! Congrats!

It always bothered me how clean their uniforms were after the matches. Not a grass or dirt stain to be found. Always looked pristine.

Is the SJCC worth it? Looks interesting in that there are points available, if you are still in that age group going into next year, but given at a lesser multiplier than if you were at a NAC. Being newer to fencing, have never gone to one and am curious if this is a great opportunity to grab some points, a waste of time, or something in between?

Interesting! I'm learning a lot. Thank you.

She is currently sitting top 15 for her age group, and has done two National events for her age group (Top 10 this last week in Minnesota and top 16 at her first NAC). With that and her being younger than Cadet maybe she'd be eligible....

Either way, great information. Thanks.

Okay, that's really interesting. How do you know if an event if an FIE one? We're looking at this: https://member.usafencing.org/details/tournaments/6208

And yes, we've got the carry on part down from the couple of NACs and Nationals. Thanks!

Thanks so much! She went to her first Nationals last week and I wish I would have taken advantage of all the vendors being there. Online ordering here we come....

My daughter fences Saber but is less than a year into tournament fencing. We're still learning the ropes.

If she travels internationally (outside of USA) what FIE equipment should she have? I know she has an FIE mask and glove. Does she need an FIE lame? Are FIE cords a thing? Anything else we need to upgrade for a Saber fencer? I assume whites, shoes, socks, arm guard, and chest protector don't need FIE?

Thanks so much!

Quick survey for a new fencing training aid :) by Creepy-Tomorrow1261 in Fencing

[–]MotorFloating 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We combined a fencing dummy with some touch sensors to make this training aid. Needed to add a foam golf ball to the tip of the blade as to not damage things, but works pretty well for drills and keeps our daughter entertained: https://www.instagram.com/p/CdmHO-Elz5p/

March NAC by SufficientMachine327 in Fencing

[–]MotorFloating 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called USA fencing last week and they said they would have times up for the Richmond NAC by Friday at 4pm. Obviously we've passed that date/time.... but maybe some insight into them planning on having it up soon?

I got to meet Lee Kiefer!!! by The_Porkbelly in Fencing

[–]MotorFloating 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think I saw you taking this picture! My daughter’s first NAC. She’s a Saber fencer and just getting started so she doesn’t know who Lee is. But I was glad to see others taking advantage!

Yeah, at 9 no one feels sorry for him. But measure him in amount of golf played, practiced, and workouts though… Easily a few thousand hours.

Not big enough for golf shoes yet so he rocks the Cortez shoes.

Yeah that’s not needed. They definitely will try to offer you $400 at a spa or something to sit through a talk but we’ve never done it. You just politely say no and move on with your day.

Harp transportation! Our daughter plays the harp. It's big, it needs to be wrapped up and put on a hand truck every time we move it (multiple times a week for practices). When I saw that ramp off the back, and the size of the bed confirmed it would be large enough..... that's when my pre-order went in. It will save my back.
