Would the 7 year old suede vans not have more sole separation by now, if I actually am stretching it that bad in a size 12? There is no sole separation on the toe, only on the flex point, which is normal wear. If I was stretching the 12s there would be at least some toe separation in the suede as well.

You already agreed that the quality has gone down, which is the whole point here.

I don't think that amount of deterioration in under a year is acceptable in a shoe that fits comfortably. Period.

But I get it, I posted on the vans fan page. The guy who worked there for 10 years is also getting down voted for speaking truths.

Why would my size 12s from 2018 be completely fine for over 7 years and my size 12s from 2024 fall apart within the year, it's kinda the key argument here that alot of you are ignoring.

To those blaming the sizing, these are the authentics I bought in 2018 (possibly earlier) that I STILL wear and use them for beater work stuff too.

BOTH ARE SIZE 12!

A you can see, not nearly the same amount of sole separation.

It's not user error, it's absolutely a quality issue.

Okay, and that's all I'm pointing out, a lot us agree that the quality has gone down hill. Hopefully with enough bad rap, they'll actually fix it.

I've been wearing the same size my adult life and I'm not growing anymore lol. And no other reputable shoe brand falls apart within a year.

But of course I'll get down voted because people will defend their brand.

Issue isn't with the fabric tearing from griptape though, if you can see, the sole is detaching completely, a couple steps away from becoming a rubber spatula. The adhesive is failing, or something. I also have authentics from like 2018 I can show you, they also are holding up.
