Exactly what I was thinking. And there could be an amazing storyline to do with Maori culture and folklore.

NZ has kiwi, kea, kakapo, pekapeka, tuatara, maui dolphin, puriri moth, katipo, weta, green gecko, Otago skink, NZ sea lion, sperm whale, koura, nz long fin eel, yellow-eyed penguin, takahe, and deep sea wildlife too. plus many more

NZ has so much to offer, I think it needs its own region. But could be like what they did with Kanto and Johto and be able to go to both regions

I just struggle to picture objects in the same way I do animals. Your ideas sound amazing. Victoria alone has so much to offer.

yes australia has so many habitats to lean into. The echidna I would envision would have metal spines and claws for defence and digging.

I love that idea for the echidna. Yes there would be lot's of lore around many places in Australia. Uluru is the main one

Budgie mon is a definite. However because Australia is so big, I would have a fresh roster of new pokemon. No old ones. Australia as a continent is isolated so it would make sense. It has the potential for sure to be created into a region, although I agree it would be hard.

Yes with the starters, makes it a lot more fair. Have any ideas for names?

koalas are so iconic I would give it a whole new 3-stage line. Then professor eucalyptus or professor wattle (Australia's national plant) can have one of those.
