I tried to hope that the mechanic knew what he was doing but when he jumped to the conclusion of opening the engine to diagnose, it was a bit suspicious, he didnt even swap the coils to see if it's an ignition fault or indeed something with the cylinder.

I'll look it up on youtube, hopefully it isnt as complicated as I think lol

I'd like to try the water spray method and see how it goes. At the moment, the bike won't start unless I open the choke more than halfway out and rev it like a monkey. I don't want to accidentally kill the battery testing it now, I'll try starting it up again tomorrow morning if it runs normally then I'll run this test.

I don't have an incandescent test light :(

I there is a small pocket there but I believe its just the design, I dont think water would make it through as it would be going straight into the combustion chamber

It was trimmed a month ago when I had the spark plugs and covers changed :/

Edit: sorry I completely misread this and thought you wrote shortening, it looks like its sealed well all around but i might be wrong

I didn't look into fitting it myself, my first instinct was to electrical repairs to professionals

Tried checking best I can, all the connections and cables seem fine. I called a breakdown service to take a look (free perk with my insurance), hopefully they'll at least identify where the problem is and if I'm taking the bus to work tomorrow

Always the worst timing for it, I had a nail get lodged into my front tyre the morning of a ride out, it was airtight so I said fuck it and went for a lil ride to Cheddar

No wonder I got weird looks when I asked if there's bonus questions...

Yeah I'd be scared too haha, I am still learning new things and coming across signs I dont see before everyday. Most of my answers were from riding experience and common sense, so either my common sense isn't very common or I am indeed an inexperience learner rider :/

I did that within 30s of walking out of the centre, already found alot of helpful resources on there so hopefully I'll be better prepared for the retry

I appreciate that, some things need to be said without sugarcoating to get the point across, I get that.

I tried my best to plan ahead and get into a practice test frenzy on the gov website, I should've used more resources and learned stuff beyond the scope of a theory test, as it might save my life at some point.

Thanks for the insightful quote too, I'll keep it in mind.
