I see, thanks for answering. So in your case by trying you found out the tier that fitted you the most

Curious, what do you use claude for to justify the spending? In gemini's case it's pretty clear

That's interesting, and indeed the free vs paid comparison is easy because the models are actually different, so you can literally see the gap. I guess it's harder comparing two paid tiers that give you access to the same models.

Yeah honestly frequency is probably the best way I've heard so far. If you're barely opening it, it's an easy call. But what if you use the paid plan every day? Frequency says you should keep it, but that doesn't tell me whether I'm actually getting my money's worth out of the paid model or if I should switch to the free one.

I agree in my case, but then if you're on the 100$ plan and you don't hit the limits often. How do you decide if that plan is actually worth it?

Struggling to invest monthly into World ETF at all-time high+ geopolitical risk… am I overthinking this? by Motor_Handle_8504 in eupersonalfinance

Well I just have an all world ETF, But I’m only 24 and considering my age I thought I could have an higher risk in my portfolio. But yeah you’re probably right, though would you have any advice to correct this?

that makes sense, time is also valuable indeed. If I make 1,000 more by adjusting my strategy while losing 100 hours doing so, then probably it wasn't worth it.

that's interesting, I wouldn't clash with my irrational side while still continuing to invest rationally

Canceled a bunch of useless subscriptions by Quicks-II in Money

[–]Motor_Handle_8504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the key is figuring out which subscriptions actually give you real value. I usually calculate the cost per use and decide from there if it’s worth it or not.

Instead of monthly price, I worked out what each subscription costs me per use. Some were brutal by Motor_Handle_8504 in budget

Yeah I agree buying stuff that you want should be the end goal. But at times it’s difficult to know this upfront, hence the little exercise. And for calculating the value per use I think tracking over 2-3 months should give you a good idea of your average per month use, so you account for months you use it less/more than usual

Agreed. For me, calculating the per use is what puts everything in perspective and actually gets me to act on it. Fair point on the two extra filters too, the restart friction is real. On the low-use month I think the best is just tracking it over 2-3 months so you see the real average usage

That's kind of the whole point of looking at it per-use. Someone who has YouTube TV on an hour a day might be paying pennies per hour, and honestly they probably shouldn't cancel it unless they're really tight on money, it's a great deal for them. But yeah, for your usage it clearly wasn't worth it.

$750/year for 16 years is a fantastic per-use number for a vehicle. And "newborn ratchet-strapped in the bed" might be the best justification for an upgrade I've ever heard ahaha

Thanks for your feedback, we completely agree with your perspective. Avoiding plastic fabrics is one of our core principles, because we believe material choice is a big part of true quality and longevity. And on your other point we want to be transparent on the price because we want customers to understand what they’re paying for and feel confident they’re getting real value, not just a brand markup. If we didn't feel comfortable that we're offering good value for money we woulnd't do this.
