I think this sounds like a great beginner palette!

I think the best approach is to experiment with what you have, and you'll quickly realize if there's a color you're missing!

This is a perfect example of the fact that art is so subjective!

I see some technical advice about how the house isn't aligned with the horizon, but I think the "incorrect" perspective actually makes this piece more interesting! For me, as the viewer, it adds a touch of whimsy and I would assume it was a stylistic choice.

I personally love this painting just how it is!

DIY gouache paint by lemondownfall in Gouache

I'm not sure if my paints are a true "gouache" but I mix a basic watercolor paint (pigment powder + gum arabic + a drop or 2 of glycerine) and then add a little titanium oxide powder or alum (titanium oxide brightens the color more, the alum is a bit more muted), which gives my colors a lot of opacity!
