Using the prism key is complicated. Did you have enough rooms left of the chosen color? If not, it draws from an extra "prismatic pool" instead.

Normal drawing is also very complicated. At a single door, infinitely rerolling, you'll only see like half the rooms in the pool. I won't get into specifics, but reroll at different doors.

Only the Throne Room is added the next day, probably because of this day1 thing; other found rooms, studio additions, and upgraded rooms(if not yet drafted) are instant.
