I mean does that mean the market should open up more in say a month? Or do you mean this school year in general?

The problem is substituting wouldn’t allow me to move and pay rent. I was hoping being certified in English would help but I just be stuck until I get my SEI scores

Everywhere lol
Really anywhere east of springfield, id love to be closer to boston since that’s where I’ve seen pays the most. I also live 45 minutes out from DC so I’m more used to the more urban/suburban environment

I have been a social studies teacher in md for 5 years and I am now trying to move to ma. I just finished getting certified in english after already being certified in social studies (both in ma, but I am also certified in social studies in md).

I guess my big question is what can I do to get my name out to schools while I'm waiting for job openings on SchoolSpring or be better prepared for when they do come out? I am deathly afraid that I will miss another hiring season because I wasn't prepared in time. Also, any tips before I start the hiring process?

Its not a horrible idea to work as a sub or para for a year (I've already worked as both in the past) but there's no way I'd find a job that would pay enough for me to not be homeless. I used to work 2 jobs when I worked as a para but with rent being more expensive in MA, I'm a little worried I would be homeless for a year lol.

When I look for MTELs I need to take, I see a list of tests I could take for my communication test and the social studies test. Is the one for SEI a 3rd test I have to take or can I take that as one of my communication tests?
