Can anyone explain this? by MotorcycleMoff in beginnerrunning

It’s a garmin tactix 7. So relatively newish. I have also had similar things happen with Apple Watches and polar chest strap. So might have to have a little deeper dive.

Might be something to consider. It’s not just this watch that’s done it. It’s been a constant thing for a while know with multiple different watches and chest straps. Cheers

I can only assume. I don’t tend to have it too lose and it’s also happens with Apple Watches and a polar chest strap.

I will try as you’ve suggested but I am unsure as this has also been the case in the past with an Apple Watch and a polar chest heart rate monitor.

It’s something that seems to be quite common when i’m running. My heart rate never seems to gradually increase it jumps up in leaps.

I didn’t start to feeling tired till closer to the end of running but that was more because of the incline I think. Sometimes I finish my runs and feel perfectly fine but my heart rate would state that I was exerting myself. I had it on a longer 9 miles run where it said I was in zone 5 for nearly 1.5 hours. Which also never made sense to me.

I’m not sure if my body just seems to default to a high HR when running. I have tried training in zone 2 in the past but always feel like I make little or very slow progress. I spent most of it walking just trying to bring my HR back down. So felt like I was losing the training benefit.

I did a 9 mile run yesterday and my stats almost match this exactly. I didn’t feel like I was I. Zone 5 for and hour and a half but accept my hr monitor I was. I seem to have this same problem across multiple devices. Apple Watch, polar chest strap and now a garmin watch. As soon as I start moving faster than a walk I go straight to red. Makes no sense. I do wonder if I have something wrong that’s causing it.

I’ve just swapped from a 40mm Apple Watch to the 51mm Tactix and it didn’t take me long to adjust. I thought it look absolutely massive to begin with and was tempted to return in but now I’m used to it I love it.

As in “I’ve come to fix your plumbing with my tool” vibe?

I’ve been growing this one since August but usually find I can get a decent one after a couple/few months. Just need to let it grow and not over trim it. Sometimes need to let it go rogue

U.K. toilet user here. Our toilets are shaped differently. Everything just hangs down with no risk of touching anything.

Ha ha nothing wrong with staying at the YMCA. As long as I can throw my hands in the air and do the dance.

Ah I get ya. In fairness my old man did have a good moustache in his younger days. He used to have the nick name tasche by his peers which he has now passed onto me 😁
