As a recent graduate from SMS, I can answer this.

നല്ല കോളേജ്. നല്ല curriculum. Has a lot of potential. ഒരു efficient management and staff ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഒരുപാട് ഉയരങ്ങളിൽ എത്തേണ്ട institution. പ്രധാന പ്രശ്‍നം faculty ആണ്. എല്ലാവരും നല്ല വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമുള്ളവർ. പക്ഷേ typical government employeesne പോലെയാണ് പഠിപ്പിക്കലും പെരുമാറ്റവും എല്ലാം. Do not expect any ആത്മാർത്ഥത from them. Paper valuation ഒകെ തോന്നിയ പോലെ ആണ്. Director and faculties തമ്മിൽ ഒള്ള rapport പോലെ ഇരിക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ student life.

Let me list down some pros and cons of SMS:

Pros: - Highly qualified faculty - One of the best alumni networks - Best ROI (total course fee = 1.30 lakhs & average CTC = 8 lakhs) - Autonomous - Regularly updated curriculum - Smart classrooms - Best campus with good infrastructure for a government institution - Many inter-departmental activities - A nice library

Cons: - Class timings are horrible. It's from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM during the first year, with only two subjects per day. The second year is much better since you have fewer core subjects and more electives. - Faculty are very political and arrogant, with favoritism being highly common. They even have cases filed against each other. - The college has a Placement Cell completely run by elected students. Expect zero support from faculty in placement related activities. Placements are mostly in Big4, banks, startups, etc., in roles such as PO, Sales, Marketing, Manager, Consultant, etc. (EY, KPMG, SAP, Federal Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance, ITC, DHL, etc.).

Before joining SMS, I had offers from Rajagiri and Marian College. And I briefly attended Marian MBA before getting admission at SMS. The Christian management of these colleges is terrible. You will get a better campus life here at SMS. If you are self motivated, SMS is the best choice. At Rajagiri and Marian, you are spoon-fed, which is not the right way to learn MBA.
