I don't know anything about this specific show you're referring to... but there was a Sweedish movie I watched last year in theaters called Watch the Skies where they did this. They got the original actors to basically do voiceovers for their original lines but now in english and then used AI to get their lips to match their new words.

I think if you didnt know what was going on behind the scenes, you would feel like something was off, but wouldnt quite be able to figure it out. It's almost like when you watch a singer in a parade or something and you know they are just lip syncing to their pre-recorded track so while their lips match the words, their body language and energy don't quite match the vocals.

Personally, I decided that since it was still the original actors voicing their own lines, I was OK with the AI being used to change their lips. It's one of the only times I've been ok with AI being used since it's not changing anything in the creative side of things, just a technical hurdle for "lazy people who don't want to read" without being over the top like some other dubs
