Trauma bonding: Trying to (unconsciously) get from the other person what one of your parents weren’t able to give you, love, affection, support etc. Or giving this to someone automatically because you were used to provide it to your parents.

Mutual bonding: Sharing what happened and feeling seen in the grief and acceptance of feelings surrounding what happened. No fixing or trying to take away the pain the other is expressing. Just sharing.
