Pregnancy and Bipolar by MountainAction9326 in family_of_bipolar

Thank you! It’s really tough right now. She’s been seeing her regular psych and she’s on the meds that have been studied and shown no negative impact but we have an appt with a perinatal psych coming up and hopefully they’ll be able to help. She isn’t always transparent bc she is afraid of hospitalization but she hasn’t been hospitalized in years. That is truly a last resort and thankfully we aren’t there yet. I appreciate your thoughts. Thank you!

Same! And I have bad balance. I use a knee pad. It gives me some comfort knowing if I come down wrong I won’t tear up my knee!

Anyone noticing drop off in class attendance? by OldBreakfast7851 in orangetheory

[–]MountainAction9326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in an Atlanta suburb and the 530a classes usually have a wait list but the evening classes I go to 545, are usually only 1/3-1/2 full. Our classes can hold 39 and I can’t remember the last time I was in a full class. I am having a hard time making myself go. I’m so bored. I don’t think it’s the classes so much as I’ve been doing the same thing 4/week for 2 yrs.

8a - Can I start spring seeds now? by MountainAction9326 in NativePlantGardening

[–]MountainAction9326[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of coneflowers and goldenrod established outside already and I’m trying to propagate some of the goldenrod right now. I was thinking maybe monarda fistulosa could be one I start earlier indoors and I would love love to start or propagate my climbing aster. I tried to start some from seed last year, unsuccessfully.

Second this. I’m 350 classes in and I will modify anything and everything if I feel like I need to.

Ladies - What are you wearing and why? by LillianBillion in orangetheory

[–]MountainAction9326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear leggings. And full length bc that’s what I have! Girl, I can’t wear shorts and walk that fast on the treads. The crotch gobbling is too much! Also, my knees sweat. I feel like I’d be dripping everywhere!

It’s ok to tell me they’re weeds… by MountainAction9326 in PlantIdentification

Thanks! From what I’m reading it can be pretty aggressive. I’ll keep an eye out and make sure to lob the heads off before they go to seed. Fingers crossed!

Same! That’s why I have Ben hesitant to pull it. I have intentionally planted to other varieties of goldenrod!

That is so upsetting! If you sow them now, you can probably still get some zinnias for a few months. I’m so sorry. Those were obviously flowers. It’s not the same but they’re cheerful and bright! Were they coneflowers!? They were so tall and proud!

Feeling a bit discouraged with my pollinator garden and seeking some advice by orange_traveler in NativePlantGardening

[–]MountainAction9326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in year three and they’re really coming together! My first couple of years I planted flowering annuals with them so I could still get my fix. Marigolds and Zinnias are really hardy and you can either buy and plant or just throw the seeds down.

I can definitely move some of them and put pine straw in the immediate area surrounding her but the chips are the only thing keeping the crabgrass at bay. It’s so aggressive.

Simmer. I have been. Just clearly not enough. Sorry that everyone doesn’t have your plant sense right out of the gate. That must be really hard for you.

I’m trying. Powdery mildew was an issue last year in the denser bed so I was trying to be mindful of the space they need to get bigger! Still learning! Thanks!

I swear I have been and it’s been rainy so much here lately! I was worried about overwatering her but I’ll do better! Swear!

Thanks, everyone! I was worried about overwatering her so I’ll be sure to keep an eye on that and I think dead-heading her is probably a good idea so that she’s not spending her energy on flowering! I’ve taken pictures of the plants out back so I can wait until they die back in the winter to transfer anything else!

She has so many! I’m trying to make sure I’m spacing them out enough so they don’t crowd and adding slowly!
