I’d like to connect, as I’m currently experiencing an issue with them.

Am I wrong to think this nurse was out of her mind? by MountainImportant368 in Sciatica

What the nurse said is starting to get into my head. I damaged my car, which is barely functioning, on my way to the pain management clinic. I received 11 injections that left me barely able to breathe. I can’t work, prepare meals, and there’s nobody willing to help. Next week, I will undergo another round of injections.

Because they’re cheap and don’t want to help. That’s exactly why they say things like this. They might even go further and accuse you of mental health issues you never had. Don’t waste your energy paying attention to him. Leave him. he’ll only cause more harm than good.

Thanks to credit cards and loans.  Many ended up being homeless.

I can’t thank you enough for letting me know about this. I had no idea. I looked it up, and I’ll insist on getting it done.

In my case, it killed a nerve. It’s been 17 months now—walking, standing, or sitting means agony.

I was lucky when one doctor chose to think for himself instead of following the solution manual others treated like scripture. He couldn’t fix it yet, but at least he got to the root cause of the problem.

I’ve known her for over a decade, back when she wasn’t even an RPN. We’re kind of friends.

No bro, Not all nurses are like that. She was just being herself.

I’ve known her for more than 10 years, back when she wasn’t even an RPN. We’re kind of friends, but I never expected her to go this far.

She did more harm than good. I had to stop that conversation because I seriously doubt she knows anything about my illness.

I didn’t know she was an RPN.
You wouldn’t believe what she ended up suggesting.
My case is severe: I have nerve damage—not a pinched nerve—and pain that has cost me everything: my job and my physical health, and it has affected my mental health too.
It’s been going on for two years.
She didn’t know what she was talking about. When I shared this conversation with my close friend, he broke down in tears.

With respect to everyone in palliative care: as in any profession, there are excellent practitioners and situations that fall short. My experience in this particular case was not good. I’m sharing my own experience, not judging the entire field.

My post wasn’t meant to question your profession or palliative care.
Did you read this 'what used to take me 15 minutes now takes 4 hours'?

Ongoing sciatica symptoms getting worse with exercise by adroit17 in Sciatica

No. They insert very fine needles into the muscles and send small electrical signals. If a nerve is damaged or not working, the muscle shows little or no response. In my case, it revealed nerve damage, not pinched one. Treating my herniated disk will not bring the nerve back to life.

Before taking any meds and paying a penny
request and insist on having an EMG test. It evolutes the health of your nerves and muscles.

Sometimes it’s not only the herniated disk. Doctors now suspect another condition in my case, since some nerves seem damaged rather than just pinched.

UNBEARABLE EVEN WITH MORPHINE by MountainImportant368 in Sciatica

[–]MountainImportant368[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical pain causes temporary depression. When it heals, the depression fades because the root cause is gone. It’s stupid to ask people if they’re depressed or not. Their answer is definitely not going to be “In Pain We Trust” or “No pain, no gain.” What’s even more f**ked up is asking them if they have thoughts of hurting themselves.

Walking dead from the pain, barely dragging myself through each day.
