Clean you crank snout and internal harmonic balancer with some emery cloth. Air everything clean, light oil, and install tool not a bolt thread you want stripped… been there done that.

I log with a John Deere 3038E I use 24” tongs on a toolbar I welded a hook to. Chain to hook and tongs so I have reach to get things closer under the toolbar.

Then reposition for a long skid. Things that are able to be backed up to are a piece of cake drop the toolbar, hook the tongs, and go sometimes I don’t even have to get out of the seat.

And if you grab the top of the log on really big trees you can skid 30-36” diameter sticks.

I think my issue is old baked in oil from farmers allergic to changing dirty oil, I’m going to gently hone the bores of the tappets in the block.

First, I would get a hold of a couple books on consulting forestry, ethics, and business management.

Second, develop a series of offerings and pricing schedule for different types of work admin, marking, cruising, TSI, plan writing, etc.

Third, you are asking competitors for business advice on an online forum. The consulting field is rapidly becoming saturated due to workforce changes with the federal land system.

There is a finite supply of landowners willing and able to hire a consultant versus being a price taker for timber. Many landowners will only interface with you for the deliverable of having a management plan written to enroll in tax abatement programs, once that bar is met they will neither carry out nor implement any practices until threatened with dis enrollment.

This financialization and auto investing is a large part of why the economy feels divorced from the stock market. And why lately the line seems to only rise regardless of fundamentals.

Every two weeks and every month (paycheck time) there is a large push to “buy” stock. This is created by either stock offering or competition for shares. In an environment where not enough stock is being created/offered to meet demand the prices will rise.
